A caregiver in this position works part-time nights from 10:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. no weekend or holidays A caregiver who excels in this role will: * Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of MRI examination. * Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA. * Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment, and exams. * Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam. * Report any malfunctions and observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or calls for service. * Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility. * Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students. * Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions. Magnetic resonance imaging technologists, also referred to as MRI technologists, utilize magnetic resonance imaging scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis. MRI technologists must be able to closely follow a physician's instructions, prepare and operate MRI equipment, position patients correctly, and effectively record the requested diagnostic images. A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend, 3:00pm-11:00pm or 6:30am-5:00pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: * Prepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure. * Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination. * Verify and validate the patient screening safety form. * Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA. * Perform venipunctures. * Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exams. * Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam. * Assist with scheduling patients. * Administer proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam. * Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS. * Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork. * Immediately report any malfunctions, observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or call for service. * Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility. * Process billing via RIS. * Potentially rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: * Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT. * Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing. * OR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
