This new hub will house specialists from nearly all Neurological Institute Centers (e.g., Center for Brain Health, Epilepsy Center, Mellen Center, Center for Neurological Restoration). Clinical practice encompasses the evaluation and treatment of patients with persistent pain conditions, as part of an interdisciplinary care model. Ideal candidates will be proficient in cognitive-behavioral therapy for pain, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness based approach to pain and stress management and group psychotherapy. Candidates with experience in trauma focused therapy are also highly valued and may be considered even without specific pain based training or background. Our patient population is complex; thus, applicants should also demonstrate competence in addressing comorbid psychological conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, mood disorders, substance abuse, and personality disorders. The CCPR vision is to serve patients across the persistent pain continuum, by providing multidisciplinary intervention to reduce risk for pain related disability in individuals with persistent pain while also treating the most complex, refractory chronic pain patients through interdisciplinary rehabilitation. The CCPR includes an innovative population health program to manage low back pain, an intensive pain rehabilitation program, and additional outpatient services including medication and behavioral management strategies for pain. The Peer Reviewer conducts Initial Peer Reviews of authorization requests for behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD), and traumatic brain injury (TBI) services that Utilization Management Clinicians cannot approve for medical necessity reasons and conducts Reconsideration and First Level Appeal reviews when initial denial decisions are appealed. The individual also participates in planning and conducting Mediations, Office of Administrative Hearing appeals of Medicaid service denials, and State Level appeals of state-funded service denials. The individual provides support to the Member Appeals Team in their generation of accurate and timely correspondence to members, legally responsible persons, and providers explaining denial and appeal decisions. The person in this role provides information to Vaya staff, consumers, guardians, providers and others regarding the denial and appeals processes in general and regarding the status of specific cases as needed. Finally, the Peer Reviewer works with other staff on the Member Appeals Team and with other Vaya departments to report denial and appeal outcomes and processes, and to ensure adherence to quality standards. Position Details: The Autism Center at the Child Mind Institute is an integrated research and clinical center dedicated to autism research, diagnosis, evaluations, evidence-based treatment and support of autism and co-occurring neurodevelopmental conditions. You work intensively with children and adolescents, their parents and teachers, and young adults on the autism spectrum and with related neurodevelopmental conditions. You will conduct diagnostic and behavioral assessments of as well as provide evidence-based outpatient treatments to provide clinical services and to support of research aimed to understand the underling biology of autism and related conditions. You will split your time between our research programs and clinical practice services This is an exempt, full-time, hybrid (minimum 4 days in office) position located in our NYC headquarters office. You Will: Conduct comprehensive diagnostic and/or clinical assessments including: Obtaining important clinical history Administering and interpreting semi-structured interviews and assessments (e.g., ADI-R, ADOS-2, Kiddie-SADS, VABS-3), and developmental, cognitive, language, and achievement standardized testing. Collecting necessary additional data (e.g., ratings scales, collateral contact) Oversee the assessments and activities conducted by earlier career staff including trainees - (post- and pre- doctoral fellows) - research assistants, earlier career stage colleagues and social workers.     The Child Mind Institute is proud to offer a one-year pre-doctoral internship designed to prepare candidates for a successful career in child and adolescent clinical psychology. The internship will begin as early as July 1, 2026. Consideration will also be given to candidates who will not be able to begin the internship until as late as September 1, 2026. This is an exempt position, located in our New York City headquarters, which offers a generous salary and full benefits, as well as support for learning several evidence-based treatment programs and attending a professional conference. Our pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology offers an extraordinary opportunity for a qualified student to receive structured training in a unique, innovative multidisciplinary setting. Internship training focuses on accurate interviewing and clinical assessment for a wide variety of primary and comorbid presenting mental health concerns-including anxiety disorders, trauma, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, behavior or conduct disorders, among others-as well as various evidence-based treatments for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Specialized training in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions, including exposure and response prevention (ERP), parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), and other evidence-based treatments will be provided. Opportunities for training in other treatment approaches (e.g., parent-child interaction therapy for selective mutism [PCIT-SM], dialectical behavior therapy [DBT]), as well as psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessment, while not central components of the pre-doctoral internship, may be made available to interested interns. Interns will receive educational enrichment through a series of didactics presented by our clinical staff; comprehensive individual and group supervision meetings; clinical meetings within our Anxiety Disorders, ADHD and Behaviors Disorders, and Mood Disorders Centers; and a series of lectures presented through our Visiting Professor Lecture Series.
