You can accumulate personal time off and vacation.
They like to micro manage your time off.
The knowledge I gained through seasoned workers who encouraged me.
The leadership is questionable?
I would like to improve their training & developing methods, how they review work and why no matter what you end up with a one to three precent raise. Also, you have went above and beyond in every aspect of the position and your supervisor or manager will write a negative review. Just to make you look unworthy of a raise.
I prepare for an interview by researching via LinkedIn, networking and new online.
In my industry compared to the average it is below the market.
The representation of diverse demographics has gotten only in lower level position not in upper management.
I personally enjoy helping others resolve problem whether it's a provider or customer via phone or email. Also, enjoy working as a team to collaborate and grow as group.
Loved my patients and flexible schedule
Laid off due to cutbacks. 1000 employees laid off
flexible schedule
We worked as a team to solve problems and make office run smoothly.
Did not need to we worked with multiple cultures and took classes yearly to stay updated.
educate self on company and make sure I could bring to table what they are looking for.
comparable
good
Helping patients solve issues and being able to help team members
They own a lot so if you are looking to transfer within their coverage areas you probably won't have trouble doing it.
Low morale amongst what employees are still trying to keep that hospital together. Sign on bonuses given to recruit new hires but absolutely nothing done to keep you there once you're hired.
The food is pretty good and very inexpensive.
UPMC needs to work on employee retention. Unless you happen to be a favorite of management, you will work hard for a lower than average for the area pay for the same job.
I was already an employee there when UPMC bought the hospital I worked in. No need to worry about it though, they're so desperate they'll hire anyone!
The pay is lower than other hospitals in the area.
The most joy I had at UPMC was when a patient who wasn't doing well got better and got to go home. It was nice knowing my work contributed to saving lives.
I like my job the hours my co workers. I schedule surgeries and make sure testing is completed
Pay raises and new employees coming in with sign on bonuses and they don’t do anything for the employees that are already there
Health insurance and sometimes you can get discounts in certain places
I enjoy working at the hospital that is affiliated with the medical school that I attended. If has a wide variety of services.
I do not believe this is the ideal location for me to take my next career move. I aspire to work and live in the Bay Area of California.
The total compensation was very appealing.
Awesome Co-Workers
Corporate politics. Health benefits were not great while working for healthcare company.
Variety of retirement plans.
The other employees
Feel as if I am replaceable, just a body in a position that could easy be replaced. Don’t listen to staff input and don’t have safe nurse to patient ratios
What perks?
Fantastic culture. Very supportive and encouraging. I love it and I don’t feel stressed when I come home.
Doesn’t pay as competitively as other comparable companies
work from home days
Love my job after a fairly difficult transition due to poor training, conflicting instructions and management treat employees differently similiar to being back in high school. The job itself is a challenge, keeps me busy and pays well, great friends made even with the cliques. On paper everything appears great but all is not as outlined.
After making an error in judgement I was suspended. The overall process to keep the job is stressful and at any point in the process upmc can find reasonable justification to push an employee out regardless of documentation or promises made. It's not about helping the employee, it's about who wants or doesn't want you. There is a lack of trust throughout each department. They miss the point of helping the employee once a mistake is made. It's like you are branded and made to jump through ridiculous hoops then let go after a technicality. Performance is not metric driven causing evals to be just an opinion and not supported with factual statistical data
Ability to learn different areas of function if you take initiative. HR gives minimal support
