Responsible for the preservation and maintenance of assigned tools and equipment
Operate various floor equipment, including battery-powered auto-scrubbers/buffers and high-speed/high torque propane burnishers
Perform snow-removal, both operation of fuel-powered snow removal equipment and manual removal using shovel
Perform other duties as assigned

Ability to use multimeters to read voltage, current and resistance values. Must be able to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits.
Understands the process of treating air so as to simultaneously control its temperature, humidity, and distribution. Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
Experience with the process of chemical treating cooling and heating systems
Understands basic heating cycle to include: identifying components in heating system, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the heating system using a gas pressure test and other devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshooting. Understands the theory of combustion and how it relates to combustible fuels such as gas and oil. Knowledge of chillers and cooling towers.
Experience with boiler operations and controls. Can troubleshoot and repair basic problems.

POSITION SUMMARY

Position Summary
The Local Government Administrative Intern will assist in the administration of municipal and human resource services for a full-service Home Rule Community. The Intern will report directly to the Assistant Township Manager, who will align Township operational needs with the Intern's academic and professional learning objectives to create a comprehensive and mutually beneficial internship experience.
This internship provides exposure to local government operations, policy development, human resources, budgeting, grants administration, and public-sector communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conducting research, data collection, and analysis to support the preparation of communications, reports and other written or visual material.
Reviewing and analyzing existing benefit policies and benchmarking practices among comparable organizations to support the development of competitive benefits programs.
Preparing reports and presentation materials, including PowerPoint presentations, public-facing documents, and graphic materials.
Developing recommendations related to programs, initiatives, and operational proposals for management review and decision-making purposes.
Assisting in the creation of brochures, flyers, newsletters, and news releases.
Drafting preliminary versions of resolutions, ordinances, contracts, and administrative policies.
Assisting with grant research, data collection, and preparation of written and visual materials in support of grant applications and reporting requirements.
Drafting confidential communications related to employee benefit programs, including insurance plans, pension plans, paid time off, and employer-sponsored activities.
Assisting with confidential administrative functions related to personnel, budgeting, and facilities.
Answering and routing calls through the central telephone system in a professional manner.
Coordinating activities and information sharing with other Township departments and external agencies as needed.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, elected officials, other departments, and the general public.
Necessary Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
Education:
Students nearing completion of a bachelor's degree;
Graduates with a bachelor's degree in public administration, political science, business management, or a closely related field; or
Individuals currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a master's program with an emphasis in public administration or a related discipline.
Demonstrated interest in municipal or local government administration.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with standard computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
Ability to prepare, review, and analyze detailed reports and data.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Requires frequent use of a computer, including word processing and spreadsheet software, calculator, telephone system, and office equipment such as copier and printer.

POSITION SUMMARY
A Swim Lesson Instructor is responsible for teaching swimming skills to both group and private swim lesson participants. Swim Lesson Instructors may teach a wide range of students from infants to adults. All swimming skills taught should reflect the guidelines set forth by the American Red Cross. Swim Lesson Instructors work under the supervision of the Aquatics Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program guidelines.
Teach swimming and safety skills appropriate for participant's age and ability.
Communicates with other swim lesson instructors, lifeguards, or facility staff the need for additional assistance/equipment.
Educates participants and parents the rules of the facility.
Informs all participants and parents of progress throughout the session.
Makes recommendations for future lessons.
Completes all required records and reports on schedule and submits them to the proper person.
Attend scheduled in-service training.
QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Possess and maintain current (must not be expired) CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
Knowledge of the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program.
Knowledge of correct stroke technique and appropriate progression.
Ability to work with different age groups.
Ability to follow and give oral and written instructions.
Ability to work flexible hours with evening and weekend work required.
Ability to appear on time for work and notify the appropriate individual if unable to work.
