The Senior DSP will provide oversight to staff working within a 12 person or less ICF or IRA. In the absence of the Residence Manager, the Senior DSP is responsible for oversight of daily shift operations, coordination of the scheduling of staff, completion of all records and reports pertaining to the shift they are leading.
The Senior DSP will serve as a mentor for new residence counselors and will assist in on-site orientation and training. The Senior DSP will participate in Agency activities under the supervision of the Program Manager. The Senior DSP provides high quality supportive services to ensure that a safe, healthy and welcoming living environment is provided for residents.
Core Responsibilities
* Ensure the implementation of goals and behavior plans for the people we support.
* Ensure that the Individual Program Plan (IPP) is implemented and documented.
* Attend to personal, self-care and other program needs that the person we support cannot independently accomplish.
* Monitor the safety and well-being of the people we support and report issues as necessary.
* Advise the nurses regarding the medical and dietary concerns of the people we support and dispense medication, if certified.
* Participate in activities as part of the treatment team that may include meetings, trainings and committees.
* Transport and accompany the people we support as required for appointments and community activities.
* Assist in the daily housekeeping and laundry routine.
* Maintain the timely completion of all records and reports as directed by the Program Manager.
* Assist the Program Manager with the daily shift operations of the residence in the absence of Residence Manager.
* Must be able to attain and maintain SCIP-R and CPR certification.
* Must be able to attain and maintain AMAP certification.
* Ensure effective communication of daily work info and expectations.
* Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.
* Serve as a mentor for new staff; assist with on-site orientation and training activities for new employees.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma; AAS in Human Services or related field preferred.
* Minimum one-year experience in a directsupport role with individuals with a Developmental Disability.
* Travel is required. Must have a valid New York State driver's license.

The Residence Cook/Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the Residence as a normalized homelike environment, which serves to promote the fullest physical, emotional and social development of the consumers. The Residential Cook/Housekeeper reports directly to the Shift Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Manager or the ADR.
Essential Job Functions
Organize, cook, and prepare all meals in accordance with menu guidelines.
Implement menu plans as developed by the Nutritionist according to prescribed individualized diets.
Prepare food in appropriate quantities.
Follow Agency guidelines/policies in regard to staff meals and snacks.
Maintains a sanitary procedure for storing and handling food in accordance with Agency standards and procedures.
Ensure correct and appropriate storage of all supplies. Date and inventory all purchases of food and household supplies.
Ensure that the proper food and supplies, as called for by the menu, are available in the facility.
Ensure food orders are appropriately maintained weekly.
Utilize comparison-shopping techniques to ensure cost effectiveness.
Receive food and household supplies and ensure that purchase requisitions and deliveries are correct.
Maintain required records; submit required reports and track inventory supplies.
Participate and demonstrate proficiency in meal planning and in-service training with nutritionist, as needed, but no less than monthly.
Assist individuals/consumers and participate in family style meals.
Cleaning the Residence in accordance with Agency standards and procedures, including disinfecting of bathrooms, sweeping and mopping all floors, wiping down all walls and countertops, vacuuming bedrooms and hallways, dusting furniture, defrosting and cleaning refrigerator and freezer and maintaining all cupboards in a clean and orderly fashion.
Maintain prior menus on file.
Maintain a file of tested recipes in proportions with the specific orders.
Consistently follow the procedures for cleaning all equipment and work areas following the established routine and/or as instructed by supervisor.
Responsible for the mending of consumers clothing.
Ensure that all measures necessary for the safety and well-being of all consumers are fully maintained.
Ensure that infection control procedures are followed in consultation with Nutritionist and the Residence Nurse.
Responsible for being thoroughly familiar with emergency procedures. Coordinate and participate in fire
evacuation drills and ensure consumer safety in emergencies.
Responsible for laundering the consumer clothing, bed linens and towels in accordance with Agency standards and procedures.
Fold and put away linen and towels and clothing.
Change linen and make beds as outlined within the facility procedure.
Ensure that an adequate supply of soap and paper towels are maintained in the kitchen and bathrooms.
Ensure that a proper number of dishes, utensils, linens, towels, etc. are maintained in the Residence at all times.
Regularly attend and participate in weekly staff meeting.
Regularly participate in scheduled in-service training and individual reviews.
Participate in the on-going implementation of a basic life skills training and program implementation
Assist and support consumers in participation in household chores as necessary
Must be able to physically intervene with consumer when individual may cause physical injury to self or others; assist consumer in responding to potentially dangerous situations (e.g. hand on hot stove; running into traffic); able to administer emergency first aid to participants.
Communicate relevant information to other staff or supervisor, verbally and in writing, completing appropriate logs and incident reports.
Participate in supervisory sessions.

The Human Service Specialist- Precautional Skills Instructor plays a crucial role in facilitating the transition of special education students into the workforce or post-secondary education. They are responsible for developing and implementing individualized transition plans that align with students' abilities, interests, and goals. Employee will be preparing the student transferrable employability skills and creating internships with community employers. This role involves collaborating closely with students, families, educators, and community partners to provide comprehensive support and resources for successful employment and independent living.
Core Responsibilities
* Instructional Planning: Develop and implement individualized training plans to teach prevocational skills such as basic job readiness, workplace behavior, and task completion techniques.
* Skill Development: Provide hands-on instruction and guidance in areas such as communication skills, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving relevant to employment settings.
* Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct assessments to evaluate person's skill levels and progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly to meet their needs.
* Personalized Support: Offer personalized support and encouragement to people we support, fostering a positive learning environment that promotes self-confidence and independence.
* Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including social workers, case managers, and vocational counselors, to ensure holistic support for participants.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of participant progress, attendance, and goals achieved, in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Complete annual Pre-vocational
* Community Integration: Facilitate community outings and job shadowing experiences to enhance participants' understanding of workplace expectations and opportunities.

Qualifications
* Associates degree in a related field preferred.
* 1-2 years' experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a vocational or transition planning capacity.
* Knowledge of transition services, vocational assessment tools, and community resources.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
* Ability to meet the physical requirements of the specific job.
* Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
* Advanced computer skills (Windows, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, Access, PowerPoint).
