    Urban Engineers is seeking qualified individuals in Hartford, CT to join the Construction Inspection Department as a Construction Inspector. This position will be able to provide inspection on CTDOT Bridge & Highway and Rail & Facility projects throughout the region. Responsibilities Inspect all construction within the project limits to ensure that the work conforms to the requirements of the Contract plans and specifications. Monitor and document all work performed by the Contractor, subcontractors, public utility companies, railroads, governmental agencies, and other entities. Interface with the various inspections staff, Client and Contractors on all facets of the project. Perform daily construction inspection of work activities. Complete daily reports, quantity calculations, and reports for construction work observed. Requirements: Minimum Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Construction or Engineering field and/or NICET-certified in Transportation Construction Inspection Level 2 (TCI-II) or higher and/or Certified Construction Manager Certification (CCM) 1+ years of experience as a construction inspector required. Certifications highly preferred: ACI level 1, NETTCP Concrete Inspector, NETTCP HMA Paving Inspector, and ATSSA-Traffic Control Supervisor. Experience working on CTDOT Highway & Bridge and Rail & Facility projects preferred. To qualify, candidates must meet the minimum requirements above; however, candidates are also encouraged to review CTDOT inspection requirements listed in the “Consultant Engineering & Inspection Pamphlet” listed on the CTDOT Website. Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking a talented Project Engineer to support our Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources practice based in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. The selected mid-level engineer will have a primary focus on water/wastewater/water resources for municipal and regional clients. The candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including site investigations, field measurements, utility investigations, capacity studies, condition assessments, complete designs from concept through final, cost estimating, and engineering services during construction. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to develop professionally through frequent collaboration with senior engineers, project manager, clients, regulatory agencies, and industry-leading subject matter experts, as well as attendance at professional conferences. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Provides technical support for a variety of utility design related projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, water transmission system design, sewage system collection rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration. + Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings. + Work under supervision of a project manager in the water/wastewater/water resources practice or senior level team members. + Collaborate on complex engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses. + Increasing responsibility including project management or becoming a regional technical expert expected. + Emerging technologies such as PFAS removal and biological treatment systems. + Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables to coordinate designs ranging from geotechnical and structural, to mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems. + Providing construction support for review of shop drawings, request for information and site visits to the construction sites. **Qualifications** Minimum Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related discipline + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + Minimum of 2+ years' experience with water, wastewater, or stormwater utility projects. + Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain PE licensure within one year of employment. + Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
