Julie co-founded Ursa Space Systems in 2014 to connect information-rich satellite data with critical decision makers around the globe. As Ursa’s COO, Julie works with teams across the company to execute Ursa’s successful operations and serves on Ursa's board of directors. She is a passionate leader in workplace diversity, playing a key role in creating Ursa’s diverse and 50% female workforce.

Julie has 30 years of experience in the software industry, including 15 years in engineering and technical management. She holds a Master of Science in computer science from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas at Austin.

Derek Edinger is a Chief Strategy Officer, Co-founder at Ursa Space Systems and Head of Brewery Operations & Co-founder at Ardennes Brewing LLC and is based in Geneva, New York. He has worked as Sr. Mechanical Engineer at Raytheon Technologies, Sr. Staff Engineer at Lockheed Martin, and Advisor at Ursa Space Systems. Derek attended Cornell University between 1990 and 1994.

Tom Edwards is a Chief Financial Officer at Ursa Space Systems.

My areas of expertise is in systems engineering, architecture and implementation of extremely large distributed systems. I also have much experience in performance analysis and modeling of systems implemented in distributed data centers.

I am an excellent problem solver, finding innovative solutions for extremely difficult problems. I can lead large teams of engineers, often from different organizations or corporations, in tackling the hardest challenges.

I am especially interested in applications of statistics and big data analytics to real systems in use.

Daniela Moody is a Chief Technology Officer at Ursa Space Systems and Member at Forbes Technology Council and is based in Los Alamos, New Mexico. She has worked as Staff Scientist at Descartes Labs, Director of Machine Learning Applications at Ursa Space Systems, and Graduate Research Assistant at University of Maryland. Daniela attended University of Maryland between 2006 and 2012 and University of Maryland between 2003 and 2005.
