This position, working under a zone maintenance program and taking direction from the Grounds Supervisor, is responsible for the upkeep, care and maintenance of grounds on campus property throughout the year. This position supports the facilities function to provide the campus and surrounding community with an inviting environment that lends to the recruitment, teaching, learning and living experience at Ursinus College.
Specific Responsibilities:
Give the grounds a manicured look, including:
Mow the lawns, prune the bushes and trees, weed flower beds and around shrubbery, edge the walkways
Remove leaves from beds, remove branches, brush or tree stumps as appropriate
Plant grass, flowers, trees and shrubs
Spray lawns, shrubs and trees with fertilizer, herbicides and insecticides
Daily monitoring of campus areas for litter and debris removal
Operate snow removal equipment during the winter to keep all of the driveways, walkways and building entrances cleared and safe; sand and salt as needed or instructed.
Take on special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary by the grounds supervisor
Collaborate with maintenance team to make sure the grounds and the buildings are always properly cared for
Perform preventative maintenance check on all lawn equipment and tools prior to use; perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on such equipment and tools
Hauls, moves, and stores furniture, equipment, and supplies; cleans storage areas as needed.
Requires the use of specialized power equipment

Qualifications:
Required
High school diploma/GED required
3+ years' groundskeeping experience
Current Pesticide Applicator's License (core and #23)
Knowledge and use of specialized grounds equipment and power tools

Must be a reliable worker who is able to perform routine tasks without supervision and establish work priorities
Valid driver's license

What will I do in this role?

What will I do in this role?
Actively develop and manage a portfolio of leadership annual giving prospects.
Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit mid-level giving prospects to create and grow a pipeline of donors, with an emphasis on leadership annual gifts of $1,812 and greater.
Meet and exceed a set number of metrics including but not limited to visits (in-person and virtual), solicitations, dollars raised, and referrals to major gift portfolios.
Keep detailed and accurate records of contacts with all prospects and work closely with advancement operations to gather meaningful information on prospects.
Spend 75% of time with or working on prospects and generally cultivating increased engagement with alumni and friends of the College.

Maintain a working knowledge of institutional priorities that may match donor passion and interest.
Manage an efficient and responsible travel schedule and make use of the budget provided.
Contact a variety of alumni and friends in addition to assigned prospects through written correspondence, telephone calls, and participation in special events such as Homecoming, Alumni & Reunion Weekend, donor appreciation events, volunteer committee meetings, and regional alumni activities. Educational:

Student - Theatre and Dance Production Technical Assistant

Student employees will support the Theater & Dance department's productions, specifically in the areas of technical production, as required by a specific production's needs.
Work is done in the Kaleidoscope's scene shop, Lenfest Theater, and Blackbox Studio Theater, under the direct supervision of the Theater & Dance department's Technical Director & Production Manager. Schedule may vary weekly. Shop hours are typically scheduled in the mornings and afternoons during the week. Some evening and weekend hours will likely be required during a production's load in period and tech weekend.
Typical work week may average between 12 and 20 hours.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the fabrication, painting, install, maintenance, and strike of Scenic Production elements.
Learn and practice a variety of skills (depending on the needs of the production) including scenic carpentry, props construction, metalworking, scenic painting, costume maintenance, and theatrical rigging.
Train on the theaters fly-system and operation along with other specified theatrical equipment.
Help with the set-up of both theater spaces for rehearsal and technical rehearsals.

Job Description:
Lifeguards are primarily responsible for the health and safety of all Aquatic Center patrons. Lifeguards are also responsible for general housekeeping and maintenance duties at the facility.
Essential Functions:
* Maintain order in all areas of the facility. Maintain assigned post unless relieved by an authorized and certified replacement.
* Maintain certifications in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR. Enforce all facility rules and polices in a firm, consistent manner.
* Perform rescues of swimmers when they are in danger. Apply emergency lifesaving and first aid techniques; and in case of severe injuries, obtains professional aid immediately.
* Answer and respond to patron questions and complaints when possible.
* Perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties around the facility when instructed by supervisory personnel.
* Attend and participate in scheduled lifeguard trainings, in-services, and orientations.
* All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED.
* At least 1 year experience as a Lifeguard.
* Current CPR, AED, and first aid certification.
* Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
* Because this position requires driving for college business, the successful candidate must possess a U.S. or Canadian driver's license which has been valid for at least two years, have a driving record that is free from excessive motor vehicle violations within the last three years, and have had no convictions in the last 24 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Essential Responsibilities
The Emerging Technologies Fellow will research and implement new and evolving technologies in support of the libraries' new strategic plan. As a member of the Research and Instruction department within Swarthmore Libraries, reporting to the Head of Digital Scholarship, the successful candidate will support the ethical use of digital technologies in courses, at campus events, and for use in library exhibits.
