* Work with drivers to enable them to operate specialized equipment properly, and provide assistance as needed when troubles develop on the road. Find qualified service to repair downed vehicles and obtain competitive bids for repairs.
* Comply with OSHA, DOT, and Tax commission regulations.
* Produce weekly, period, and yearly reports along with daily OOS reports.

As a Maintenance Technician for the Publix Bakery Plant you'll utilize state of the art instruments and industry best standards to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the performance of a wide array of equipment. Our Bakery Plant produces award-winning products such as breads, rolls, cookies, pies, cakes, muffins, danish, dry mixes, fillings, icings, and glazes. Without our Maintenance Technicians, the Publix Bakery Plant simply couldn't produce the volume and quality of products needed to serve our customers. Our two bakery plants are located in Lakeland, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia.
One of the following positions is available: Maintenance Technician Class A, B, or C.
The position offered is contingent upon the qualifications and work experience of the candidate.
Responsibilities include:
Develop a knowledge base of plant maintenance including:
maintain troubleshoot, repair, and improve the mechanical processes of the equipment/facilities at the Manufacturing plant
perform preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance of process equipment throughout the plant
troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
create requisitions needed for parts and supplies
build steel, stainless steel and aluminum fabrications as required for process improvement
weld stick, TIG, sanitary TIG, and Mig
troubleshoot PLC and computer-controlled devices
perform minor plumbing, building repair, and maintenance
read and interpret schematics and drawings
operate forklift, high lift, etc.
perform housekeeping duties in the work area and
assist with other duties as assigned.

ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings
experience testing, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining reverse osmosis (RO), carbon filtration, wastewater pH correction, and UV and ozone treatment systems
experience in cleaning and maintaining water delivery systems; including valves, pumps and piping
experience inspecting back flow preventers for proper operation
