About the Role: The Assembler will lay out, join, form, fasten, assemble, install and functionally check prefabricated sheet, tubular, machined, mechanical or formed parts and assemblies preparatory to, during and after welding, installation and during or after tool proofing. Load braze alloys; make and install core; and deburr such items as machined parts. What You Will Do: * Work from written and verbal instructions to lay out, assemble and install prefabricated sheet, tubular, machined, mechanical, and formed parts to build up subassemblies and assemblies * Prepare mixtures of braze alloys and adhesives and apply to various assemblies prior to furnace brazing. Prepare and apply proper stop off * Hand finish machined and other parts and assemblies to close tolerances, involving varied contours, holes, radii, angles and flanges using pneumatic pencil, bench and angle grinders * Prepare surfaces of parts and assemblies prior to assembly. About the Role The entry level Assembler, both light assembly and heavy assembly, is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery to assemble parts in the Containment department. The Assembler I will produce high-quality constructed metal or soft products per customer specifications. The material and product to be constructed will vary by department. Activities Read and interpret job cards for information specifications. Operate and/or utilize equipment to produce products that meets the dimensions required for the accuracy of parts and product quality. Assemble, troubleshoot, and test product. Multitask to perform other duties assigned by the Team Lead or Supervisor. Primary Responsibilities Work in a safe and courteous manner. Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions to assemble custom products. Assemble components using a variety of materials, machinery, and hand tools as needed. Follow established procedures to ensure product quality and adherence to customer specifications. Conduct visual inspections and quality checks during the assembly process to identify and address any defects or discrepancies. Report any issues or deviations from specifications per protocol. Collaborate with Team Lead, Supervisors, and other department management and team members to understand customer requirements and provide feedback on product assembly. Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Maintain and clean tools and equipment regularly to ensure optimal functionality and longevity. Support production by performing work in any/all areas within the department to ensure the team meets/exceeds the department's metrics for SAFETY, QUALITY, DELIVERY, COST, and INVENTORY. Follow all work instructions and Lean practices. Follow all company policies, rules, and regulations. All other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None.
