1989

Since 1989, United States Nursing has been successfully supporting organizations in serving their communities, and providing continuous and quality patient care.

1990

1990: The Department of Health and Human Services creates a commission to address the national nursing shortage.

2004

2004 – The Society for Simulation in Healthcare formed to become a leader in the professional advancement of the application of medical simulation in healthcare.

2009

Overall, it will provide students with the cognitive flexibility that will be required for the formation and navigation of tomorrow's health care environment" (Borsy, 2009).

2010

In October 2010, the Institute of Medicine released its landmark report on The Future of Nursing.
