This segment also offers an oncology-specific electronic medical records system, known as iKnowMed. The Cancer Center Services segment provides cancer center services through its 83 integrated and community-based cancer centers. This segment also manages 17 radiation-only facilities. The Pharmaceutical Services segment offers group purchasing organization, which involves in negotiating purchasing contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers and other vendors; and pharmaceutical distribution services that comprise tracking drug therapies from the manufacturer to the practice, ensuring that drugs administered to patients are genuine and unadulterated. The Research/Other Services segment offers cancer research services, such as study concept and design, and regulatory approval services. The company also provides accounting, billing and collection, personnel management, payroll, benefits administration, risk management, and compliance services. US Oncology Holdings, Inc. was formerly known as Oiler Holding Corp. The company was founded in 1992 and is based in The Woodlands, Texas. As of December 30, 2010, US Oncology Holdings, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of McKesson Corporation.
