Career Opportunity: Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) is seeking a Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who works collaboratively with physicians, is responsible for providing comprehensive care and who demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with oncologic and hematologic conditions. This position will be located at our Stephanie clinic, located in the Henderson, NV area. The APP (either APRN or PA) provides care within his/her scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, and institutional policy and practice agreements. Scope: Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards Responsibilities Responsibilities: US ONCOLOGY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for individual patients * Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation * Assists physicians and performs procedures as needed * Assesses patient/family needs and provides education * Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs * Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice * Knowledgeable of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements * Completes patient charge tickets * Provides case management for oncology clients and their families * Serves as a resource person for the nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials * May supervise the activities of clinical nursing CCCN ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Conducts comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of oncology/hematology patients with acute, chronic and/or potential health problems * Communicate and collaborate effectively with physicians, other health professionals and health related agencies * Oversee treatment infusions and supportive care needs * Write specific orders within the limits of the practice agreement/scope of practice including chemotherapy * Follow ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent and unanticipated adverse outcomes * Maintain clinical documentation according to practice guidelines and standards * Participate in education of students, new APPs, and other health care professionals * Participate in organizational and departmental meetings, educational opportunities, committees and workgroups as necessary * Active engagement and promotion of CCCN research program Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: APRN: * Successful completion of Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program * Nationally certified as AGNP, ANP, FNP, AGNP, or GNP * Active State of Nevada Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Registered Nurse (RN) license PA-C: * Successful completion of a course of training in residence as a physician assistant approved by one of the following entities affiliated with the American Medical Association or its successor organization: * The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or is successor organization * The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or is successor organization * The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program or its successor organization * The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistants or its successor organization * Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or its successor organization PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: * Two or more years of clinical experience in outpatient oncology setting as an APP * AOCNP certification (Once eligible, obtainment of AOCNP certification required) PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Career Opportunity: CCCN is seeking a Contact Center Care Coordiantor - Pre-Services Coordinator at the Medical District Office in Las Vegas, Nevada. The pre-services coordinator is responsible for scheduling and pre-registering new patients for exams and procedures. In this role, you will work with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful healthcare organization. SCOPE: Under general supervision, is responsible for scheduling and pre-registering new patients for exams and procedures. Maintains patient records, prepares forms, verifies information, and resolves routine and non-routine problems. Follows standard procedures and pre-established guidelines to complete tasks. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Answers incoming calls and asks appropriate questions to assess patients' needs. * Schedules new patient appointments with the appropriate provider. * Provides patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, and instructions to patients. * Records call statistics in New Patient Log. * Maintains and updates physician schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly. * Works in conjunction with the triage nurses to accommodate scheduling requests. * Obtains patient demographic, insurance, and other pre-visit required information. * Enters patient information into computer systems. * Verifies patient insurance eligibility and benefit coverage/co-pays with payer; verifies pre-authorizations are completed prior to patient visit. * May mail or email the patient appropriate medical forms for completion prior to the first visit. * Proactively follows up with patients on missing or outdated insurance information as well as copies of medical records and test results from other providers. * Maintains the strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. * Other duties as requested or assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * High School diploma or equivalent required. * Associate's degree in Finance, Business or four years of revenue cycle experience preferred. * Minimum three (3) years of medical receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required. * Knowledge of this practice's personnel, daily routines, and scheduling is a plus. In this role, you will work in a fast paced, high volume oncology practice with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful health care organization. SCOPE: Responsible for the collecting and processing of specimens from patients, documenting results according to established procedures. Assists with performing specimen analysis, instrument maintenance, and quality control procedures as indicated. Follows quality assurance and safety policies and procedures. Assists with patient flow as needed. Properly identifies patient, draws blood samples and sends to laboratory for analysis. Maintains collection areas and equipment and performs record keeping duties. Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered. * Maintains proper documentation as described by the quality assurance program including accessioning logs, test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records and checklists. * Performs specimen analysis of all chemistry, hematology, immunology specimens as directed. * Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and ensures that all supplies are viable before using in patient testing. * Preps patients as necessary (e.g., taking vital signs) * Assists with testing procedures according to procedure guidelines. * Sends specimens to reference laboratories for any testing not performed in house. Processes incoming orders for lab testing. Processes in-house and in-coming results for charting. Charts patient results in a timely manner. * Update and file all daily paperwork, lab logs and maintenance logs. * Arrange for transfusion of blood products when ordered by physician. Operates designated laboratory equipment as directed. * Uses equipment effectively, skillfully, and efficiently. Maintains equipment and work area as directed. Performs testing under CLIA guidelines for personnel. * Performs daily, weekly, and monthly instrument maintenance as indicated. Records proper lot numbers of all controls, calibrator, and reagents. * Identifies troubleshooting procedures and calls technical services as needed. Implements and complies with safety and quality assurance standards. * Complies with regulatory agency standards. Adheres to all OSHA compliance laws and Universal Precaution procedures. * Properly disposes of hazardous materials. Maintains a clean working environment and restocks the laboratory area as needed. * Performs phlebotomy and sample collection procedures as needed. * Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients and medical staff. * Responsible for performing CLIA Waived or Moderately complexity testing under close supervision.
