Compass Oncology - the largest privately-owned Cancer Care and Research Facility in the Pacific Northwest - is looking for a Patient Care Coordinator with high level customer service skills. While having medical office experience is a good place to start, we are looking for individuals that have the heart for service, are eager to learn and grow with an organization who values service, excellence and respect. Employment Type: Per Diem/ On- Call. Up to 20 hrs/week (8-hr shifts). Location: Vancouver Cancer Center (Vancouver, WA) Salary Range: $19.17-$27.71 Per Hour Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise as well as internal employee equity considerations. Job Scope: Under general supervision, serves as a Care Coordinator in scheduling a variety of patient appointments; office visits, lab appointments, chemotherapy appointments and tests as indicated by the Provider. May include outside scheduling and the coordination of outside referrals. Serves as a resource and liaison between patient and other medical staff. Answers incoming calls, triages calls appropriately to the correct department/healthcare provider. Accuracy, efficiency, and excellent time management is crucial as a Patient Care Coordinator. Familiar with standard medical concepts and medical office practices. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/practice. * Accurately and efficiently schedules patient medical appointments to include office visit, lab, chemotherapy, and other associated ancillary appointments as ordered by Provider in computer system. * Assist patient in coordinating external referrals as ordered by the provider. * Obtains and maintains accurate patient demographics and insurance information and communicates changes appropriately. * Researches and responds to routine and non-routine patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Requests assistance from more seasoned coworkers & supervisor on complex issues in order to discuss resolution & learn. * Answers all incoming calls, assesses callers' needs, directs to appropriate personnel. Pages clinic personnel as appropriate. Obtains and communicates messages in an accurate and timely manner using patient portal. * Develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships across all departments and staff. * Attend weekly team huddles lead by Provider to discuss patient cases and work collaboratively to ensure quality care is provided. * Actively participates in departmental and inter-departmental staff meetings, work groups or other collaborative efforts as needed. * Act as a resource for all clinic staff to include training, shadowing, and onboarding. * Demonstrates reliability and punctuality by consistently showing up on time and maintaining dependable attendance to support team operations and organizational goals. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS : * High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred. * At least two (2) years office experience, preferably in a medical setting. * Knowledge of medical terminology highly desired. * Must possess the ability to apply critical thinking in reading, interpreting, and executing provider orders. * Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to assess when it is appropriate to adjust priorities based on patient or clinic needs. * Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate information and questions with others in order to perform responsibilities effectively. * Must be able to maintain a calm, professional and compassionate demeanor in a high-volume specialty practice. * Must be comfortable interacting appropriately with patients, family members and care givers during times of extreme medical and emotional stress. * Proficiency with computer systems; Microsoft Office Outlook & Word, required. JOB SCOPE: Under supervision of a physician working within a clinic admixture room, performs the technical, non-judgmental aspects of injectable medication preparation. Prepares all medications within OSHA guidelines, and US Oncology and Compass Oncology guidelines. Verifies dose calculations and calculates correct dosage volumes. * Counts controlled substances and maintain records. Maintains current drug information and MSDS sheets. Properly disposes all materials used when mixing chemotherapy or non-chemotherapy medications. * With admix team conducts required cleaning and maintenance of the admix area and the pharmacy department with the specific departmental policies and procedures. * Cleans hoods and clean rooms as stated in policy and procedures. * Logs and dates all medications that are being used. Maintains drug inventory, including checking monthly for outdates. Keeps accurate temperature logs and other quality assurance logs. Maintains control documentation of medications, including lot numbers and all other quality assurance activities * Collaborates with team members to maintain indigent patient medication program and records. Completes and maintains accountability logs on all research medications * Orders supplies and medications and ensures adequate supply of medications and medical and pharmacy supplies. Receives and shelves medications. Maintains inventory control of medications * Reviews and checks medication charges daily, in preparation for revenue cycle team. Thorough understanding of department automation, data entry and report generation. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Education: * High School diploma or equivalent required. * Certified Pharmacy Technician training required. * Pharmacy Technician license for Washington and/or Oregon strongly preferred. A Little More About What You Will be Doing The Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director to deliver comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. The Polysomnographic Technologist is credentialed in sleep technology. Works under direct clinical supervision of the sleep medicine physician to prepare sleep studies, support patients with positive airway pressure related issues, and conduct polysomnogram scoring. Is responsible for home sleep study logistics. Sets up and scores home sleep testing devices. Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs. Determines final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols. Explains procedures and orients the patient for sleep testing.
