What does the IT Services Specialist (ISS) do? Under general direction, responsible for providing service and support to ensure efficient, appropriate maintenance and administration of company's client server system, network gear, telephony systems, printers, end user workstations and software within assigned practices. Participates in needs assessments, product evaluations, local security administration, implementation planning, conversion planning and verification, testing, trouble shooting and training. Serves as a central contact for vendors. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities: * This is an advanced desktop support position. This role will serve as a technical lead for other less experienced support personnel. * Maintains all on site computer equipment including computers, servers, terminals and printers. Plans and executes maintenance for in scope equipment on a regular basis. Provides support for a population of users across multiple sites in a practice. * Documents and maintains records of end user issues & requests, network issues, support and vendor communications, and relevant hardware/software orders and shipping within proper change management process. * Supports users with basic usage and troubleshooting of mobile devices along with mobile email. * Troubleshoots advanced end user IT questions and system problems. Provides advanced user IT support as needed when required. * Configures Windows desktop PCs, laptops, and tablets on a regular basis including hardware setup plus software installation. * Assists in the maintenance of network systems, servers, workstations and printers; installation of software and hardware; and troubleshooting of server and network problems including hardware component replacement in PCs and servers. Problem resolution may require work outside of normal business hours. * Works closely with US Oncology corporate Information Technology groups on setting and enforcing standards, implementing and upgrading hardware and software, and monitoring/troubleshooting production equipment. Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, standard anti-virus, Office applications, EMR applications and others into Windows OS computers. * Provides technical advice to local market for purchasing new computer equipment per US Oncology standards. Handles purchasing activity for planned PC refresh and any local project initiatives including budget tracking. Maintains asset lifecycle process and records for local computer equipment as needed including regulatory required data destruction records as part of PC retirement process. * Maintains site level infrastructure architecture and operations information at a required level of detail to enable efficient support and knowledge sharing among the support teams. Captures key information toward IT business continuity. * Responsible for local on-site support functions including answering general questions, working with the corporate help desk on issues, and reporting problems. -Monitors and as needed performs daily, monthly, and yearly tape backup rotation on local servers. * Maintains all fax and modem lines including expediting phone system repairs and/or updates in coordination with corporate telecommunication and local repair vendors per US Oncology standards. * Intermediate level knowledge of networking is required. This role will be local hands & eyes for central network engineering as needed. * Manages local vendors and suppliers concerning market level initiatives including the IT portions of construction/remodels, adding of new physician practices, and other activities requiring local IT changes. * Will be involved with IT aspects within various projects including but not limited to vendor coordination, hardware ordering & installation, facilitation of user security account changes, responsible for integration of possible legacy systems into our environment, and other IT duties which may arise concerning infrastructure. This may include work activities outside of normal working hours. * Keeps management informed of status of projects and issues through routine written reports. * Coordinates support and assists vendors with troubleshooting of key specialty clinical systems including those within areas of lab, radiation treatment, EMR, imaging, and practice management among others. * Key liaison from IT to the various practice administrators and key office staff concerning all IT activities including the IT portion of projects, outages, planned changes, and other IT impacts to the clinics. * Strong customer service skills are required. * This position may require extensive regional travel between clinic sites depending upon market. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience: * Associates's Degree in Information Systems, business or related technical field. * Minimum three (3) years experience in support of Windows based systems and other business applications, preferably in a healthcare environment. * Fluent English language skills both written and verbal required. * Experience in support of enterprise resource planning systems, standard desktop applications (MS Office, McAfee Antivirus, internet browsers, email) associated hardware platforms and peripherals, remote troubleshooting and mobile computing, and troubleshooting network connectivity. * Experience replacing system hard drives, video cards, and memory required. * Computer networking experience required. * A+ Desktop, Network+ or other hardware certifications preferred. * Microsoft Certified Professional preferred Competencies: * Ability to work independently, self-manage job queues and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. * Sensitivity to communications, accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism. * Demonstrates patience, tolerance and adaptability in all areas of support responsibilities. * Exceptional interpersonal skills, including strong oral and written communication skills. * Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. What does the Pharmacy/Admixture Tech do? (including but not limited to) The Pharmacy Admixture Tech, under the direct supervision of a physician or registered pharmacist working within a clinic admixture room or licensed pharmacy, the Admixture Tech /Pharmacy Tech performs technical, non-judgmental aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping, and inventory control. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a registered nurse or a registered pharmacist. Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to): * Assist with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision. * Check all orders for completeness and verify patient information and proper physician authorization. * Admix drugs as ordered by a physician in an accurate and timely manner, adhering to department, OSHA, and interoffice guidelines. * Calculate correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents. * Assist in controlled substance record keeping in accordance with practice guidelines, state and federal regulations. * Dispose of materials used in mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs in accordance with practice guidelines, state and federal law. * Clean hoods daily, check drugs monthly for outdates, and perform and document other quality assurance activities. * Maintain accurate temperature logs and logs for protocol and patient assistance drugs. * Manage inventory appropriately, including proper documentation of inventory quantities, lot numbers and expiration dating when appropriate. * Provide support across the medication use continuum including label preparation, documentation perform basic data entry and pre-billing review, , and order medications and supplies as directed. * Assist with required cleaning and maintenance of the admixture area and the pharmacy department in accordance with state rules and USP compliance. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Pharmacy Tech position will have the following background and experience: Level 1 * High School diploma or equivalent. * Entry level to three years experience in a pharmacy. Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements) * Minimum three to five years experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills. * IV certification Preferred. * Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement recommended. Level Sr (in addition to Level 1 and 2 requirements) * Minimum five to seven years of experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills. * Oncology background preferred or extensive I.V. preparation experience. * Completion of an ASCP accredited program or community college-based program recommended. What does the Certified Medical Assistant do? (Including but not limited to) Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment.
