About the Role: U.S. Pipe is seeking an Operation Excellence Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing operations in the assigned region. This position responsibilities will include identifying and driving improvement opportunities for Quality practices and Operational Excellence techniques. Duties include collection and analysis of manufacturing and customer data to improve safety, product quality, customer delivery, and cost reductions. 50% travel is expected. Specific Responsibilities: * Develop and execute plant specific OPEX and Quality roadmaps. * Understand, Train, mentor and coach Quality standards and Lean / Six Sigma principles, tools, and practices. * Ensure adherence to company Quality standards. * Investigation of any Customer Complaint including RCA report. * Compliance with all ISO, NSF, and UL standards. * Work with and manage the various different inspection entities that interact with the plants (WSNY, FM, UL, etc.). * Working with the Production Manager, acts as a change agent to drive improved quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and increase productivity by eliminating waste, reducing variation, streamlining key value streams, and optimizing business processes. * Create, train and monitor performance of Standard Work program. * Define, assemble, and lead improvement project teams, Kaizen events, Just-do-it's, etc. * Support CapEx projects related to OPEX & Quality improvements. * Assist Engineering with equipment maintenance using PM and CMMS systems. * Ensure the manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations. Qualifications: * 3 to 5 years' Operational Excellence experience in a manufacturing environment. * Degree in Engineering, such as Industrial or Mechanical is required. * Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with specific ability to use advanced features such as macros. * Technical knowledge and facilitation skills in continuous improvement to lead 5S and Kaizen events. * Bilingual English / Spanish. * Demonstrated competency in Lean / Six Sigma principles, tools, and practices. * Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality assurance techniques and business operations while demonstrating a customer-centric and flexible problem-solving approach. * Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization and tailor messaging to appropriate audience. * Ability to present complex concepts via presentations for senior level audiences is highly preferred. * Self-starter who can develop effective networks with internal customers and external stakeholders * Strong time management, prioritization, analytical, and organizational skills, with ability to meet deadlines, achieve desired results, and manage multiple initiatives, both collaboratively and independently.

Perform many or all of the following duties on in-process (WIP) pipe, depending upon the job assignment: visually inspect gauges, record data, calipers, measure, tape, mark, labels. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment/machinery is functioning properly and performing routine preventative maintenance of equipment system prioritizing work based on need. The Maintenance Technician will perform routine adjustments and calibrations to machinery and will follow up with a Production Technician on any diagnostics needed to perform a needed repair. Specific Responsibilities: Receives instructions or participates in team decisions regarding scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection tasks. Inspects plant equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc. and repairs such defects. Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, adjusts, and lubricates all plant mechanical equipment and machinery. Performs preventive maintenance tasks to maximize effectiveness of plant equipment. Perform precision maintenance duties. Fabricate and weld for projects, routine maintenance jobs, emergency jobs, etc. Interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, etc. Makes and seals various types of joints such as expansion, flange, nipple, coupling, union, lead wiped, soldered, flared, caulked, banded, and welded. Installs gaskets, packing, and tests joints for leaks or tightness. Tests, inspects, dismantles, repairs, replaces, or installs any type of high or low-pressure piping, tubing, fittings, fixtures and parts for the installation, maintenance and repair of pipelines for air, water, steam, oils, gases, acid, and caustics. Ability to troubleshoot, repair, install, etc. hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Utilize a CMMS to obtain work orders, document information, close work orders, etc. Keeps work area in a neat and orderly condition and performs all work in a safe and efficient manner. Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor. Cleans all work areas. Qualifications: High School diploma or G.E.D. and minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial millwright or maintenance technician and/or successful completion of an apprenticeship program or a vocational course of study related to industrial maintenance at a recognized vocational institution. Requires interpersonal skills in dealing with coworkers, contractors and vendors, mechanical aptitude. Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to read drawings, schematics, and blueprints. Identify fabrication requirements written on each piece of pipe. Place pipe in machine, center the pipe, and tighten for work. After the pipe is in place, the operator will machine tapered threads into the pipe. During this process, the machine operator is responsible for verifying measurements, such as thread depth and correct taper. After the threads are cut the operator tests the flange to make sure it screws onto the pipe properly. Adjustments are made to the threads if an issue occurs. Applies glue on pipe and flange and uses the machine to tighten the flange onto the pipe. Runs the cutting tool across the surface of the flange to flush fit the flange onto the pipe. Remove pipe from machine and place on boards. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Good with math, able to read a tape measure and micrometer. Ability to understand machinery processes. Job Description: This position will be responsible for cleaning and preparing the trough to maintain an adequate supply of molten metal in the machine ladle; to pour molten metal from treating ladles into transfer ladles and relieve oven charger in accordance with scheduled relief breaks. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that slag is cleaned from molten metal in the machine ladle and prevented from flowing off the machine ladle with molten metal during casting process. Perform relief duties trough man, oven charger, and ladle car operator. Charge pipe in the annealing oven; operate casting machine to produce good quality pipe; assist casting machine operator with set-up for cast cycle and with other duties related to casting of large diameter pipe. Maintaining dry spray and blackening levels. Maintaining alloy levels for the large diameter and transfer ladles. Provide relief for iron pourers as needed as well as perform trough man duties, if needed. Maintain water cooler levels. Operate fork truck for various lifts as required as well as operate scrap truck as needed. Line and repair linings for ladles, trough chutes, ducks nest, stirrer beams, stirrer beam covers and burner top covers. Produce good quality cores for the large diameter pipe casting process, coat cores with blacking mixture; visually inspect cores for defects and maintain a proper mixture. Load finished cores into baskets; operate light forklift to deliver baskets of cores to the casting machines in casting department and furnish core pick-off operators with empty baskets and place full core baskets in stock. Assist with the core tooling cleaning operations in small diameter and large diameter core rooms; perform as well as general clean-up duties in the core rooms. Set up and operate machine to produce cores; visually inspect cores for defects, remove fins from core surface when present and record core production and delays per hour and per shift on standard forms. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required Some Production experience preferred. Possess good written and verbal communication skills.

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the production operations in the assigned department through the daily execution of processes and procedures. Essential Functions: * Leads the work of hourly production employees to ensure that working procedures are followed in a manner that provides safe operation while maximizing quality and productivity as well as managing labor cost. * Ensures that daily production schedules are met, and if not, captures the reasons for missing the daily plan. * Uses daily Leader Standard Work to manage the process and quickly identify process deviations. * Uses root cause analysis to determine action items to prevent reoccurrence of issues that cause gaps to standards. * Must have experience in working on mechanical equipment/tooling. * Should have the ability to trouble shoot/diagnose mechanical problems - especially on the Core making equipment. * To supervise both production and craft employees to ensure quality cores are made, tooling is properly maintained and check at appropriate intervals. * Ensures that work is conducted safely, that safety rules are adhered to, and that work areas are maintained in a safe and orderly fashion. * Conducts regular area safety inspections and 5S audits. * Investigates incidents fully and documents in the accident investigation system in a timely manner. * Ensures that any corrective actions that arise from accident investigations are implemented in a timely manner. * Communicates frequently with crew members to maintain awareness regarding unsafe conditions and behaviors. * Maintains open communication with assigned crew on a daily basis to address any safety, quality, production, maintenance, housekeeping, or personnel issues. * Uses Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data to understand sources for driving performance and work on improvements when results are not meeting targets. * Ensures that production equipment is set up properly and is maintained in good operating condition. * Ensures that all material and equipment required to perform daily work is available. * Maintains direct contact with maintenance supervisors to communicate equipment conditions and to aid in developing a priority for maintenance activities. * Develops and executes a documented plan to make sure assigned hourly employees are properly trained and qualified to perform their assigned position within their job classification. * Works with Area Manager and Continuous Improvement personnel to identify, document, communicate, and implement process improvements, including participation in and sustaining 5S and Kaizen improvements. * Fills in for other Production Supervisors when needed for vacation, planned outage or any other scenario. Specific Responsibilities: * Check dimensions of pipe spigots, grind spigots and cut and taper pipe spigots when required. * Ensure that pipe bells are of good quality and within specifications by visual inspection, gauging, and by performing minor salvage work. * Weigh pipe on pipe weighs scales and marks pipe accordingly or applies label. * Perform many or all of the following duties on in-process (WIP) pipe, depending upon the job assignment: visually inspect gauges, record data, calipers, measure, tape, mark, labels. * Perform inspection duties on finished products and accessories (both incoming and outgoing) on the shipping yard. Perform inspection duties on pipe linings at the cement lining facility and general inspection duties on products in the packaging department. * Inspect pipe spigot visually and with calipers to ensure that pipe spigot is acceptable and within specifications.
