USA Truck celebrated its 35th year in operation May 4, 2018. The company got its start in 1983 as Crawford Produce, Inc. (CPI) with fewer than 10 tractors in operation. CPI was incorporated under the name USA Truck in September 1986 and purchased by management in January 1989. The initial public offering of our common stock was completed in March 1992. Today, with more than 1,600 driving team members, we are regarded as one of the nation's largest over-the-road Truckload carriers. Our distinctive white tractors and trailers bearing the bar and star logo is an ode to our nation's military from one of our founders, a former military aviator. Under that banner, we provide capacity solutions to a wide customer base throughout North America.
The staff at USA Truck come from unusually diverse demographic backgrounds. The company is 15.3% female and 34.2% ethnic minorities. Even though it has great demographic diversity, USA Truck notably lacks in political diversity. It has an unusually high proportion of employees who are members of the Republican Party, at 75.0%. Despite having coworkers who agree with each other about politics, employees at USA Truck tend to have relatively short tenures. Staff members usually stay with the company for 2.4 years. The average employee at USA Truck makes $55,275 per year. In comparison, some of its highest paying competitors, like Crete Carrier, Covenant, and Celadon Group, pay $61,578, $61,443, and $58,082, respectively.
Based in Arkansas, USA Truck is a key player in the transportation industry with 2,500 employees and an annual revenue of $551.1M.
