The ideal candidate will lead research projects and oversee all aspects of project execution in-house as well as with research vendors, which include but are not limited to surveys, data analyses, report development and insights communication plans and strategies.A critical part of the position is the ability to conduct high quality mixed-method research, integrate findings with previous research and other data sources, and effectively communicate and engage business teams with user insights. Responsibilities
Survey Design & Implementation: Independently create methodologically sound surveys across complexity levels-from rapid pulse checks to sophisticated research designs including conjoint analysis, market segmentation, and advanced statistical modeling
Data Integration & Synthesis: Proactively identify opportunities to triangulate survey findings with complementary data sources (behavioral analytics, qualitative UX research, historical studies) to develop richer customer insights and uncover behavioral patterns
Strategic Insights & Innovation: Recognize emerging trends and research gaps to establish novel perspectives on user behavior, while continuously developing new methodological capabilities and research frameworks
Project Leadership: Successfully manage concurrent research initiatives while maintaining quality standards, effectively prioritizing deliverables and seamlessly transitioning between diverse project requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors with a concentration in Market Research, Psychology, Anthropology, Statistics for Behavioral Sciences or similarly relevant field focused on userexperiences and analytics, with 8+ years of applicable professional experience
Demonstrated experience leading mixed-method research supporting digital product innovation and optimization
Deep hands-on expertise in mixed-method research methodologies, experimental design, and advanced data analyses for survey and market research

Build model organisms or red-teaming approaches to test the robustness of METR's or external evaluations and safety measures
What the job involves
Collaborate with other research streams to identify the questions that need to be answered for METR to be able to accurately assess catastrophic risk from models in the near and longer-term future.
Lead research to answer these questions as cheaply and effectively as possible, trading off between being scrappy and careful in the right places.
Significantly improve METR's risk reports based on the research your team has done.
Publish 'fundamental' research that's similarly impactful to the time horizon methodology. Designing and building harnesses to test AI models and systems (including agents) for dangerous capabilities such as hacking or exploiting security vulnerabilities;
Conducting uplift research studies related to potentially dangerous chemical, biological, nuclear, or radiological (CBRN) AI-enabled uplift;
Developing AI‑assisted evaluation pipelines, where models help critique, grade, and explain outputs related to frontier risk (e.g. RLAIF, model‑judging‑model);

The EUV lithography process begins when droplets of liquid tin are injected into the focal point of a high-powered laser, where they are vaporized/ionized to generate 13.5-nm light. The stable delivery of these droplets (in size, speed, spacing, and positioning) is accomplished via the Droplet Generator functional module. Functional development involves challenges in the fields of high-pressure mechanics, fluid dynamics, high-speed controls, surface chemistry, glasses, liquid metal interactions, and more.
The complexity of the droplet generation requirements put exciting demands on the Droplet Generation Staff Researcher, who will be working within a multidisciplinary team mastering complex engineering activities of significant technical depth related to multiple phases of the product development, including technology pathfinding, theoretical and experimental feasibility studies, design and development activities, manufacturing process development and factory introduction, problem solving and troubleshooting. Ideal candidates will be incredibly organized, have a strong knowledge of applied physics, metrology, controls, experiment design, and process development, hands-on knowledge of diverse vacuum and gas pressurized equipment, and have a genuine desire to push the boundaries of these technologies forward.
Role and responsibilities
Guide development of high-level architecture for the formation of tin droplets in the EUV source, as well as metrology systems for measuring the performance of the system, in order to improve the EUV generation process; improve droplet formation models via experimental validation; build and maintain model improvement roadmaps.
Provide input to technology roadmaps and identify key scientific learning objectives and define corresponding experimental design to arrive at design guidelines, performance requirements and procedures for product development and engineering design.

Develop and execute module, sub-module and integrated system performance tests, analyze test results and extract actionable knowledge from sub-module to full-system levels.

Document learning and communicate knowledge to engineering and product development teams to guide product improvement and release of new product nodes.

The Institutional Research & Reporting Lead provides coordination and day-to-day oversight of reporting activities performed by the Office of Institutional Planning & Analysis (IP&A), which includes cyclical collection, analysis, and submission of a variety of student and instructional data to the CSU Chancellor's Office (CO), state and federal governments, accrediting and regulatory agencies, college ranking sites, and other internal and external entities. This position is expected to develop and maintain a deep familiarity with applicable reporting guidelines, campus and systemwide policies, data dictionaries, and higher education data trends. The incumbent builds strong working relationships with systemwide contacts, attending relevant CO meetings and user groups, and serves as an internal liaison to numerous campus departments and subject matter experts, working collaboratively to establish business processes and protocols, improve data quality and completeness, and retrieve and reconcile information from disparate sources. The Lead also supports the IP&A Director to continuously improve department operations, facilitate data governance efforts, and manage the campus' ad hoc data request process, including intake, tracking, workload management, and consultation with stakeholders and data authorities to ensure appropriate analysis, use, and interpretation of data. This position will serve as both an individual contributor, taking primary responsibility for assigned reports and analytic projects, as well as a department leader, providing lead direction and mentorship to other IP&A team members
