Job Description: The Broad Institute's Cancer Program is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of cancer through systematic and innovative research. The Cancer Dependency Map (DepMap) initiative seeks to delineate the landscape of cancer vulnerabilities across all cancer types, utilizing functional genomics and other high-throughput screening technologies. Our objective is to establish a roadmap that identifies the most efficacious therapeutic targets for cancer treatment. The DepMap Consortium was formed by DepMap as an academic/industry collaboration. Technical Documentation & Communication • Create and maintain training materials and documentation for databases for new and existing users. • Prepare project status reports with technical metrics and timelines. Resource & Quality Management • Incorporate data management best practices, including version control and backup procedures. • Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance by maintaining important documentation. • Participate in the review, testing, and implementation of database upgrades and enhancements for an internal database. Process Improvement & Innovation • Support efforts to evaluate and document key operational processes with data insights. • Contribute to the adoption of best practices by improving the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of current processes. • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, troubleshoot existing processes and automate manual processes to drive efficiency. • Design and develop dashboards for project tracking. • Perform other duties as assigned. We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with a strong background in paving and asphalt work to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive estimates for asphalt paving, milling, and grading for site-work projects. NCDOT and Municipality estimating a plus. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and understands the production, materials, and pricing that drive profitable paving operations. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for asphalt paving, milling, patching, and related site-work projects Review and interpret plans, specifications, and bid documents Perform quantity takeoffs for paving, base, grading, and related scopes Solicit and analyze subcontractor and material pricing Develop unit pricing and job-specific pricing based on production rates and historical data Work closely with project managers and field personnel to validate scope, means, and methods Identify potential risks, omissions, and value-engineering opportunities in bid documents Maintain organized bid files, takeoffs, and pricing records Assist with post-bid reviews and project handoff to operations Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of construction estimating experience, with a strong emphasis on asphalt paving Working knowledge of paving operations, materials, and production rates Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital takeoff tools Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment Experience with DOT, municipal, or commercial paving projects preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Commission on sales Paid time off and holidays Health insurance and other benefits Long-term growth opportunities with a growing construction company
