The Role Itself
In this role, you will engage directly with our primary customer, the independent Property and Casualty Retail Agent. Acting as a representative for either our contract or brokerage carriers, you will be responsible for soliciting, underwriting, marketing, and ultimately securing coverage for our business enterprises within the excess and surplus lines marketplace. Effective relationship-building skills are crucial to collaborate with our partners, aiming to cultivate a profitable book of business.
Responsibilities include:
Develop a network of relationships with retail insurance agents, soliciting new business through sales and marketing techniques
Build relationships with our in house binding and brokerage markets
Be creative in assessing accounts and negotiating terms
Handle accounts of all sizes through thru the life-cycle, including administrative workflows in conjunction with the support team(s) to establish accurate and prompt responses to service issues
Consistently demonstrate a professional, positive, team-oriented attitude
Travel and attend company approved conferences, seminars, and other educational activities required to stay current on latest developments, trends, and regulations in the marketplace
What We Are Looking For:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate consistent competency in each essential job duty.
3 years of either wholesale broker/MGA or carrier experience, excess & surplus lines preferred
Must be a sales driven โpeople personโ who likes to establish new relationships while learning communication strategies and sales methods.
Energetic, self-motivated, goal oriented, and able to thrive in a team environment.
Strong knowledge and experience of property and casualty insurance including: coverages, rating, terminology and technical procedures.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: P&C License required. E&S License preferred, but not required.
Must be experienced in Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook Adobe Reader, and other Windows based software applications.
Ability to quickly learn new programs and applications.

How You Will Contribute
Responsible for the development and successful acquisition of new business

Research and compile lists of prospects, actively pursue sales appointments through phone calls, correspondences or networking

Spend majority of the time in front of prospective customers networking to
initiate new business.
Analyze prospective clients' existing insurance program, identify their insurance need, develop and propose comprehensive insurance programs to satisfy their need.
Anticipate future needs and call on established clients to renew and recommend appropriate coverage options. Sell additional coverage if required.
Develop long term relationship with clients. Conduct large client coverage review and determine insurance coverage requirements based on sound principles and as carrier rulings by state.
Maintain current and further develop expertise in niche area or market sector by networking and participating in professional development activities
Maintains acceptable level of professionalism & adhere to corporate procedures and guidelines.
Licenses and Certifications:
Licensed Insurance Broker in respective areas

The applicable base salary range for this role is $65,880 to $122,745.

Compensation philosophy:
The base salary range for this role is: $70,000 and $100,000, depending on experience, plus uncapped commission. On-target performers typically earn $150,000-$170,000 in year 2 and $170,000-$200,000 in year 3. Top performers can exceed this range with continued growth.
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are part of our total compensation package, which also includes benefits and other perks. We also include stock options in all compensation packages and believe all Vouch employees should have the opportunity to become owners in the company. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skill set, location, and business need. Basic Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Florida 2-15 Life & Health Insurance License or be willing to obtain the license upon being hired.
Proven track record of selling in a Business-to-Business environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, document management tools, and carrier proprietary systems.
Experience using agency management systems, with a preference for Vertafore AMS360 and ImageRight.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and time management abilities.
Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
Committed to maintaining confidentiality of financial, employee, and client information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with self-insurance medical programs.
Familiarity with risk assessment and risk management techniques.
Extensive knowledge of all lines of insurance, including sophisticated and less common coverages, especially those products represented through agency.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly valued to better serve our diverse customer base.

About the Role:
Prospecting (60%)
Warm transfer leads will be provided, 50% or more come from cold calls and Networking. This percentage may change as the Agency grows.
Daily cold calling required from verified prospect lists
Join, participate, and attend community and networking events as well as be a member of professional organizations to promote the Agency, generate leads, and build a pipeline
Develop and participate in marketing campaigns
Active on LinkedIn - engage with prospects/clients
Become a trusted advisor by providing patience, understanding, high communication and solutions that fit their unique needs
Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell to current Agency client base
Obtain accurate information from the prospects, including the completion of applications, supplemental questionnaires, risk surveys and other related documentation
Promptly address phone, e-mail, or site visit questions and concerns during process
Input and maintain Opportunities that are accurate and up to date, with all communications (emails/calls).
Effectively X-Date all referrals, cold calls, and all other prospects to track, monitor, and report on weekly/monthly prospecting activity and sales results to their direct supervisor
Achieve and exceed sales targets and performance metrics
Develop and establish referral partners and request referrals from new customers and associates and respond to the referrals in a timely manner
Proposal Process and Presentation (25%)
Prepare and present customized insurance policy options to clients, including coverage, benefits, and premiums following agency standard procedures
Prepare and provide customized insurance quotes based on selected coverages
Provides complete and comprehensive submissions to Underwriters and responds promptly to requests for additional information.
Accurately documents coverage discussions.
Submits new business paperwork to Operations as instructed.
Demonstrates the ability to close the sale.
Customer Retention (10%)
Build rapport and a positive relationship with clients throughout the policy term.
Handle escalated client issues
Conduct check-in calls
Engage current clients during each call for referrals
General Duties (5%)
Stay informed about industry trends, products, and regulatory changes, maintains adequate knowledge of procedures, and coverages, to effectively manage, maintain and develop client relationships.
Must attend daily, weekly, and monthly staff meetings.
Promptly submit onboard sheet with quote and signed documentation to Operations as directed
Completes all other duties as assigned within the physical specifications of this job description
Establish positive relationships with underwriters and producers.
