The ushers' primary job is to aid visitors by cordially showing the way to their appropriate seats or the way to a large building. You'll often see them at weddings, churches, stadiums, entertainment, sporting events, and theatres. At weddings, ushers have varied duties and responsibilities before, during, and after the ceremony. These include escorting guests to the venue, directing guests to their assigned seats or rooms upon arrival, and helping the photographer gather the guests for formal picture taking.
Welcoming guests is the primary role of a door attendant. Primarily in hotels, apartment complexes, and fine dining restaurants, door attendants open doors and greet guests with a smile. They even assist the guest with their belongings. Sometimes, they even provide initial refreshments such as water while guests are still fixing their bookings. They open vehicle doors or even haul taxis for the guest going out. As frontlines, they sometimes answer guests' queries about local attractions, and they provide directions.
