Johnny Tharp is chief operating officer (COO), Investigations Services Division (ISD) of US Investigations Services, Inc. (USIS), which performs federal, state and local background investigations, fraud investigations and site visits. Mr. Tharp has been with USIS since 2001, starting his career as a special investigator in El Paso, Texas. From July 2003 to March 2007, he was a district manager in both Albany, N.Y., and St. Louis, Mo., with responsibility for all aspects of investigations assigned to those geographic areas. From March 2007 to December 2010, he served as the regional vice president of the Eastern Business Unit, where he directed operations of five districts in 12 states. Mr. Tharp then presided over ISD’s quality initiatives and performance, integrity assurance, mobile technology, training and program management as vice president of Support Operations. Most recently, he served as vice president of Field Operations, leading a staff of more than 3,500 employees across the U.S. and its territories.
