The Part-Time Researcher for Lab Development will support a research grant. This position will play a key role in developing hands-on learning experiences using the Haiku Forge tool. This position offers a unique blend of technical skill development and educational content creation, to contribute significantly to the advancement of cybersecurity training methods. The primary responsibilities will include supporting the development of innovative cybersecurity labs and creating comprehensive training materials for the Haiku Forge tool.
This position is 100% grant funded.
Essential Functions:
Support the development of lab content mapped to various certifications like CompTIA CASP+ and CompTIA Network+.
Collaborate with a learning experience designer to create lesson plans, video content, and other content for the creation of lab content in the Haiku Forge Platform.
Submit work summaries and reports based on your work and research.
Collaborate with fellow researchers, faculty, and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the research projects.
Participate in regular team meetings and provide updates on progress.

Tissue Recovery & Coordination Responsibilities:
Tissue Recovery:
1. Recovers tissue to maximize availability for transplant and/or research
Prepares operating room for recovery process
Operates closely with Tissue Coordinator to perform physical exam and thoroughly document all findings
Inspects donor ID band for positive identification of donor
Arranges instrumentation for the recovery process
Assures aseptic technique is used during the recovery process (sterile and aseptic)
2. Packages tissue to effectively transport to shipping facility for processing

JOB SUMMARY
The Lab Technician, working in an accredited commercial laboratory, is responsible for performing various laboratory functions such as preparing media and/or samples of a variety of sample types for analysis, performing routine laboratory maintenance efforts, and is responsible for basic set up and operation of laboratory instrumentation and equipment to support exceptional Customer Experience (CX).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Following established SOP's, Laboratory Technicians ensure customer satisfaction by supporting laboratory staff through executing various entry level laboratory duties, resulting in the timely and accurate reporting of data
Gather appropriate materials needed to prepare and analyze test samples
Sample receipt, login, storage and disposal
Prepare necessary standards, solutions, media, etc., that are required for sample analyses
Perform basic equipment and instrumentation set up and operation
Execute routine laboratory maintenance efforts, such as glassware cleaning and sterilization, and ensuring the laboratory is well maintained
Accurately record observations and data
Maintain accurate, up to date logs, notebooks and equipment records
Perform necessary laboratory administrative functions such as filing paperwork, photocopying, reviewing of data, and entering data into computerized LIMS
Comply with and promote Personnel, Safety, and Quality Program
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to work with small vials, test tubes and delicate laboratory equipment
Ability to apply basic algebraic concepts to perform basic laboratory calculations and accurately measure substances, liquids and/or solutions
Ability to read and apply established protocols and SOP's to daily objectives
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
