We are looking for candidates with demonstrated excellence teaching the following courses: pre- and post-1865 surveys of American literatures; Women & Literature (with focus on motherhood, autofiction, and travel writing), as well as Science Fiction & Fantasy Literature. A secondary expertise in creative writing is also required; preference will be given to candidates with a range of published novels, novellas, and short fiction. Candidates must also have expertise teaching composition to first-generation college students and English language learners. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to develop curriculum and teach thematized general education courses that contribute to Utica University's general education requirements and the English major, as well as contribute affiliated minors and interdisciplinary programs. The teaching load will consist of four courses per semester, and will typically include two sections of first-year composition every semester.
