Lakeside Neurologic is currently interviewing for the position of Maintenance Utility Service Worker. Maintenance USW’s are important team members at the facility. Team members are required to perform the following tasks:

What We’re Looking For:

Lakeside Neurologic is seeking a Maintenance Utility Service Worker who will be responsible for all maintenance and equipment. The position involves a combination of hands-on repairs and maintenance of the buildings throughout the facility.

What You’ll Do:

Serves as point of contact for all facility and equipment maintenance, defects and repair work.

Performs scheduled maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment, including Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Performs minor facility renovation/remodeling

Complies with all safety regulations as stated in the facilities safety program, and reports safety-related accidents, incidents, and unsafe work conditions.

Attend safety-training programs as required.

Must be available on an on-call basis and be available to work various shifts and assignments (position is designated for swing shift).

What You’ll Bring:

• Ability to utilize diagnostic tools and instruments to troubleshoot facility systems.

• Minimum high school education or equivalent; able to work with a variety of people; able to read and write English. HVAC certification is desirable.

What Qualifications Are Required:

Possess a Valid Driver's License

High School Diploma or GED

Skills required include basic electrical, HVAC/R, plumbing, painting, drywall, and carpentry, mechanical and preventive maintenance as required to complete the assigned work. EPA HVAC certification desired and will be considered a plus

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Assists in the construction, maintenance and repair of water and sewer systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Assists with installation, maintenance and repairs of water taps, water lines, sewer lines, manholes and fire hydrants.
* Locates water and wastewater lines for preparing work sites and for outside servicers and contractors to protect County system lines from damage.
* Operates vacuum truck and excavation equipment.
* Assists in the repair of water leaks, stoppages, lines, sewers, valves, manhole rings and covers.
* Inventories equipment, supplies and materials.
* Reads blueprints and engineering drawings.
* Utilizes hand-held manual, air and gas-powered tools and equipment in the performance of duties (i.e., pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, saws, cement mixers, air compressors, tapping machines, pipe threaders).
* Addresses and resolves public inquiries and concerns.
* Ensures that vehicles and equipment are properly operated and maintained.
* Participates in restoring work sites to serviceable condition (i.e., repairing asphalt and concrete, filling holes).
* Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Education, Training and Experience. High school diploma or GED supplemented by one (1) year of general construction or other manual labor-intensive experience with exposure to severe work environment. Experience with installation and maintenance of water and/or sewer systems is preferred.

Licenses and/or Certifications. A Class 'A' commercial driver license ("CDL") or a Class 'B' CDL with tanker endorsement is preferred, depending on assignment. Requires a valid driver license.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate trucks and various hand-held manual and gas-powered tools and equipment. Must be able to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push and pull or otherwise move objects. Requires the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Tasks include considerable bending, stooping, climbing, etc., and working in confined spaces. Physical demands are in excess of sedentary work.

Language Ability: Requires ability to read and communicate effectively in Standard English, including the ability to convey, record and exchange information; requires the ability to explain procedures and to give, receive and follow oral and written instructions.

Intelligence: Requires the ability to apply principles of common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions; to deal with problems involving concrete variables in or from standardized situations; to perform manual labor and machine operations; to make independent judgments in the absence of supervisor; to acquire knowledge of topics related to primary occupation.

Numerical Aptitude: Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to tactfully and effectively interact with the public and with co-workers. Must be able to perform under stress when confronted with frequent deadlines.

Primary focus will be the upkeep of all hard floor surfaces and carpeted areas using automated floor scrubber and carpet extractor.
EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR USE OF EQUIPMENT.
Basic cleaning of an office buildings including cleaning of all common areas, exam rooms, office space, restrooms, eating areas, dock, entrances, elevators, walkways, windows, furniture, fixtures, stairs, chairs, tables, telephones, drinking fountains, trash removal, dusting, disinfecting, polishing and other assigned items and areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for all basic cleaning Move furniture, vacuum, reposition furniture, empty trash and replace liners Check all trash containers prior to moving it Cleaning includes dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, gum removal, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor and spot cleaning glass Performs additional duties as required, including attending to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related clean-up work for trash and restroom concerns Restock carts and closets at the end of each shift Cleaning of restrooms includes restocking toilet tissue and other dispensers, emptying trash, clean and sanitize fixtures, clean mirrors, spot clean partition doors and walls, sweep and mop tile floors, and clean toilets and urinals
