WestRock currently has entry-level labor position openings at our Delaware Water Gap, PA papermill facility that produces coated paperboard from recycled products.
These entry level positions provide labor for various tasks around the mill including picking up paper, operating forklift, handling chemicals, cleaning, etc. Must be able to carry/lift 50 lbs. Candidates with previous experience operating forktruck or other mobile equipment are preferred, but that experience is not necessary for consideration. This is a rotating shift position and membership in the Union is required after 90 days.
These entry-level positions provide labor for various tasks around the mill including picking up paper, operating forklifts, handling chemicals, cleaning, etc.

Description Utility Worker I, II, or III Highlights of the job

We are hiring a Full Time, Permanent position for our distribution department for the Arizona side of the Colorado River working in Parker / Havasu and occasionally in our Willow Valley District. This open position will report to our Parker facility. Utility Worker positions start at $22.05 per hour!

This individual performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.

What you'd be responsible for Repair and maintain fire hydrants, main line valves, water service lines, water mains, water meters and fittings, installation of new water services, water system flushing, water quality sampling, flow testing, traffic control, and preventative maintenance activities e.g. valve exercising and fire hydrant inspections.Installation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater collection systems including sewer laterals, mains, taps, main cleaning and clearing blockages, roach control, and raises/lowers/repairs of manholes. Provide assistance to Field Service Representative team, reading meters and line locating when needed to backfill due to absences. Performs other work as required. What's required to be successful

All candidates must have High school diploma or equivalent, and an Arizona driver's license with good driving record. Must be able to obtain a Class A CDL within a year.

Computer literacy and proficiency required for completing service orders in customer information system.

Ability to complete reports legibly and accurately on paper and with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints of water distribution and wastewater collection systems, service orders, and maintenance manuals.

Ability to code time card with up to 50 separate account codes.

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and regulations.

Ability to work independently when given written and oral instructions.

Ability to perform standardized water quality tests; ability to operate motor vehicles such as dump trucks, backhoes, valve exerciser, mini-vac unit, and similar equipment.

Ability to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external customers.

Minimum requirements for each grade:

Utility Worker I: One (1) year of qualifying work experience in water distribution and wastewater collection field. ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution certification will be required within six months of hire.

Utility Worker II: Two (2) years qualifying work experience in water distribution and wastewater collection field. ADEQ Grade 2 Water Distribution certification required.

Utility Worker III: Four (4) years qualifying work experience in water distribution and wastewater collection field. ADEQ Grade 3 Water Distribution certification required.

This position may report to one or more water and wastewater systems on the Arizona side of the Colorado River between Parker and Willow Valley. Travel between sites in a company truck.

There are periods of continuous stooping, bending, walking, shoveling and sweeping. May be exposed to insects, animals, reptiles, dust, pollen, chemicals, water and sewage. Must be mobile and agile to make repairs in tight places. Requires strength to lift heavy objects up to 70 pounds. Ability to perform heavy manual labor in varying climatic conditions.

Must be able to tolerate extreme heat. This position is subject to callback, overtime and weekend/holiday emergency call outs and on call duty.
