Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as a Staff Development Educator to ensure that educational needs are met throughout Masonicare Health Center. Demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge in geriatric nursing through direct and indirect clinical practice. Coordinates all educational training programs for licensed and unlicensed staff. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops. Provides an annual calendar of educational activities for staff including learning needs identified by nursing leadership. Identifies essential competencies for licensed and non-licensed staff within the Nursing Department and ensures appropriate educational opportunities exist to promote the growth and the development of staff. Plans, delivers, and evaluates educational programs for licensed and non-licensed staff. Coordinates the Student Nursing Program with area Board of Education and local universities in accordance with program guidelines and contracts. Develops and delivers clinical orientation program for licensed and non-licensed staff within the Nursing Department. Utilizes Relias Learning Management System to track employee education. Manages Clinical Preceptor education program, ensuring on-going support, resources and educational tools are delivered as needed. Maintains staff program attendance records in accordance with the State of Connecticut DPH and CMS requirements. Provide and maintain employee education record for CPR/BLS training for direct care staff as required. Performs all job functions in line with Masonicare mission, vision and values. Reports all unsafe conditions and promptly reports an injury or exposure identified. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications Education: BSN strongly preferred Experience: At least three years experience as a nursing educator in a geriatric setting. Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills. Working knowledge of Relias Learning Management system desired. IV Therapy certification preferred.
