As a Review Coordinator Lead - Utilization Management, You will be responsible for conducting complex utilization review/medical management and mentoring team members. You will partner with team members to develop and implement quality improvement and special project initiatives. You will be responsible for assisting in the promotion of the initiatives to external customers.
This is a hybrid role requiring you to work one day per week in the office, with the remaining days remote.Essential Functions
You will perform prospective, concurrent or retrospective utilization review/medical management for all services and quality of care based on contract, state or URAC requirements.
You will refer cases that fail to meet criteria to a peer reviewer.
You will collaborate with team members and other health care professionals to develop, implement and complete quality improvement and special project or corrective action initiatives based on review results.
You may need to perform technical writing and coordinate the development of materials to promote and support initiatives, or perform extensive research on requested topics to develop projects.
You will serve as liaison with internal and external customers to ensure projects, plans and/or products are completed satisfactorily.
You will maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients to ensure continued participation.
You will serve as a representative of the Company at external client meetings.
You will train and serve as a mentor to team members to ensure reviews and appeals are conducted thoroughly and within specified time frames.
You will document review and special project results in workflow documentation system, ensuring data is accurate and timely.
You will assist in compliance reporting.
Requirements
Current RN license.
Graduate of a Nationally Accredited Nursing Program.
Two or three year degree in nursing or related field and/or equivalent training and/or experience.
5+ years clinical practice experience.
Functional PC knowledge.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
Knowledge of URAC/NCQA standards preferred.

Provides ongoing education to patients regarding their renal disease, vascular access and dialysis therapy, and other related health conditions.
Discusses with patient, and records education related to diet/fluid and medication compliance.
Provides patient specific detailed education regarding adequacy measures where applicable - Online Clearance Monitoring (OLC), Adequacy Monitoring Program (AMP), Urea Kinetic Modeling (UKM).
Ensures transplant awareness, modality awareness, and drive catheter reduction.
Educates patients regarding laboratory values and the relationship to adequate dialysis therapy, compliance with treatment schedule, medications, and fluid.
Dialysis Treatment:
Provides safe and effective delivery of care to patients with ESRD.
Accurately implements treatment prescriptions including Sodium (Na) modeling prescription, and Ultrafiltration modeling (where appropriate) to ensure stable treatment therapy as indicated.
Assesses patients' response to hemodialysis treatment therapy, making appropriate adjustments and modifications to the treatment plan as indicated by the prescribing physician. Communicates problems or concerns to the Team Leader or physician.
Identifies and communicates patient related issues to Team Leader or physician.
Initiates Initial and Annual Nursing Assessment, and ongoing evaluation and documentation of patient care needs according to FMC Policies and Procedures.

Laboratory-related:

Reviews transplant status and follows established procedure regarding appropriate action to be taken.

Purpose Statement
The position of Substitute Building Nurse is to provide direct health services to individual students, parents/guardians and staff. Participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the school health services program.

The Sr. Review Coordinator will be responsible for conducting utilization review/medical management for all services with intent to train/mentor other team members and perform preliminary research on requested topics. Coordinates and participates in peer-to-peer review as warranted. With prior management approval, may deviate from criteria with proper justification to authorize the service. Serves as liaison between peer reviewer, provider, facility and/or subscriber. Coordinates and participates in appeal process as directed by management.
Trains or serves as a mentor to team members and physician reviewers to ensure reviews and appeals are conducted thoroughly and within specified time frames.
Performs preliminary research on topics such as experimental or cosmetic services, coverage determinations, coding or standards of care.
Documents review and special project results in workflow documentation system, ensuring data is accurate and timely.
Assists in compliance reporting.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
Current RN license.
Four-year degree in health care or two- or three-year degree in nursing or related field and/or equivalent training and/or experience.
3 - 5 years recent experience working in a clinical environment.
Acute hospital and/or ICU experience preferred.
Knowledge of URAC/NCQA requirements preferred.
