The camp Nurse will evaluate and treat campers and staff for minor injuries and illnesses, supervise and insure implementation medication policies and procedures at camp, keep a log of Health Center visits, give supportive advice to counselors and other camp staff if requested, and identify health problems serious enough to require a physician's attention.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee daily operations of the camp health lodge. Providing a welcoming environment to support the health and wellness of campers and staff.
Supervise EMT, working together to manage the daily responsibilities of the health lodge.
Provide medical attention to campers and staff with injuries and document in Health Log.
Ensure that all camp health procedures follow state and industry standards.
Communicate with camper families to understand camper needs to support diabetes, injuries, and other conditions.
Distribute and record camper medications.
Coordinate with Office Manager to maintain records, medical forms, and both medication and visit logs.
Maintain strict safety protocol according to Camp Lincoln's policies and industry standards.
Maintain thorough and timely communication with camper families and camp office.
Maintain medical supply inventory, communicating needs to supplies in a timely manner.
Lead staff trainings and meetings as needed.
Adhere to policies related to boundaries with campers.
Attend required abuse risk management training.
Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising campers.
Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years old.
RN or LPN degree
Prior camp, ER and/or pediatric unit experience preferred but not required
Must be able to complete YMCA required training as scheduled by management.

Prior experience with children (does not have to be in a medical capacity)
Must maintain updated certifications of the job (CPR and First Aid/AED).
