SUMMARY: To provide for the routine operation and minor maintenance of university vehicles in the transportation of materials or passengers. *WORK SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm, to include some nights, weekends, and holidays. Major Duties / Critical Tasks •Transfer patients and other assigned passengers on and/or off campus, assisting them in entering and exiting vehicle.
•Deliver and/or retrieves materials as instructed.
•Assists in the loading and unloading of materials from vehicle.
•Maintains daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers/cargo, destination, and fuel and oil consumptions.
•Inspects condition of assigned vehicle on a regular basis with regard to oil, fuel, tires and water.
•Reports any needed adjustments or repairs to supervisors.
•Adheres to internal controls established for departments
Required Education/Experience One year of related experience required. Completion of defensive driver course within 30 days of hire. Must possess current Texas Class "C" driver's license, and a clean driving record. *Delivery driver experience is preferred. Equipment Operation of vehicles, including trucks or vans. Working Environment Lift and move heavy objects. Drive vehicles under adverse weather conditions and have the ability to cope with emergency driving situations. *This is a contract position through UTMB Healthcare Systems staffing. No UTMB benefits are associated with this position, with the exception of the 401k retirement plan offered through Healthcare Systems Staffing.*
