As a Packer, this candidate will be responsible for the inspection of finished product prior to being bagged and the placing of the bagged product in boxes, cases and displays. The Packer will assist in ensuring the plant environment meets food safety cleanliness objectives and operates according to the establish safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Packs bags of chips into cartons.
* Assembles cartons, applies stickers and packs cases according to case specifications while verifying the package quality of finished product.
* Performs visual inspections of chips, quality of chips and chip packages and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor / lead of any problems.
* Pours on rework as needed.
* Covers "pick out" lines and recognizes bad product.
* Perform daily sanitation task.
* Perform weekly sanitation task.
* Perform monthly sanitation task.
* Maintain GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
* Maintains and follows all Safety guidelines.
* Maintaining appropriate housekeeping standards.
* Gives lunch and work breaks.
* Trains new packers.
* Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
* Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
* Preforms additional duties as assigned.

Your Opportunity: EHS Manager-West
Utz Quality Foods is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager - West to join our team. This can be based in Goodyear, AZ or Algona, WA and requires travel between the two locations. This position will report to the EHS Director Manufacturing for Utz Quality Foods and lead the implementation of our EHS Management System and our Wastewater Department at both locations. This position will partner with plant leadership and provide specific recommendations based on trends and data to drive improvement across the location EHS program.
What You'll Do:
* Implement and maintain the Utz EHS management system to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
* Identify location specific trends and solutions in partnership with the location management team.
* Lead the location incident management program and track all action items to completion.
* Communicate facility metrics within the location and to Utz EHS Leadership.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols, working with Plant Leadership to reduce the risk of employee injury.
* Facilitate Workers Compensation process at the location in partnership with the Utz Risk Management team.
* Maintain a current working knowledge of EHS regulations and laws to provide expertise for EHS assessments, capital projects, work orders, and general EHS related problem solving at the site, regional and corporate level as needed.
* Recommend and implement programs to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal environmental regulations including documentation, reporting, permits, manifests, training, and policy development.
* Act as location liaison between Utz and regulatory agencies.
* Manage location training matrix, provide training, and tracking for EHS training and communication programs.
* At a minimum annually review the effectiveness of the Utz EHS Management System at the location to update and revise as necessary to drive continual improvement.
* Record and investigate all incidents of injury, work related illness or damage to property, partnering with the necessary parties to resolve any identified corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence and meet loss-reduction goals.
* Oversee the Wastewater Department operations to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental permits and regulations, including sampling, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting.
* Manage Wastewater Department staff to optimize treatment processes, maintain equipment, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure proper handling and disposal of waste streams.
* Coordinate with regulatory agencies regarding wastewater operations, inspections, and reporting requirements.
* Develop short and long term improvement plans as necessary for EHS needs across the location.
* Partner with Corporate Environmental and Engineering to drive long term improvements to the Wastewater system.
* Travel required up to 50%
What We're Looking For:
Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, safety engineering, or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management, with demonstrated leadership experience.
* Demonstrated experience changing safety culture at a company or facility.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of OSHA and other applicable industry EHS standards.
* Experience working with regulatory agencies and external auditors.
* Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.

Dry - Load and unload the dryers
Deliver processed garments to designated finishing area
Deliver processed flat goods to designated area
