Position Summary
The Driver supports operations by providing safe, timely, and professional transportation services for guests, team members, and materials. Responsibilities include transporting guests to local destinations, completing scheduled pick-ups and drop-offs, assisting with luggage and deliveries, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of company vehicles. This role plays an important part in delivering a smooth and welcoming experience while also supporting internal logistical needs. The position reports to the Front Office Manager.
The pay for this position is $18.00 per hour plus tips.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
Transport guests to and from designated local locations as scheduled by the Concierge Desk
Coordinate transportation requests and updates with the Concierge and other relevant departments
Provide information about hotel amenities, local attractions, and events during transport when appropriate
Assist with loading and unloading luggage, following established procedures for tagging and tracking
Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable vehicle at all times; wash exterior and clean interior as needed
Complete routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checklists; monitor fluid levels and tire pressure
Report any mechanical issues, damage, or incidents promptly to the Front Office Manager
Support hotel operations by transporting supplies, equipment, and interdepartmental packages as requested
Assist in coordinating and executing staff transportation needs for shifts, events, or off-site training
Work collaboratively with other departments to fulfill operational transport needs in a timely and efficient manner

The Mobile Pantry Driver is responsible for ensuring all items needed for the mobile pantry are properly loaded/ unloaded on the van, providing transportation to the mobile sites, and assisting in distribution while at the mobile site.

Responsibilities:
Properly and safely drive the agency-owned box truck.
Ensure that maintenance of the truck is upheld at all times; any maintenance needs and/ or repairs must be reported to the Warehouse & Mobile Operations Supervisor immediately.
Work with Food Programs Associates to set up and pack up the distribution area at mobile sites.
Ensure that all commodities are properly dated and transported to mobile site locations according to NYC food handling standards.
Load and unload deliveries at permanent office space to ensure the office food storage room is adequately stocked with commodities.
Ensure that the distribution space is properly set up before the program starts operations, including working with partnership staff to ensure the room is set up for pantry distribution.
Design the most effective and efficient route in collaboration with the Warehouse & Mobile Operations Supervisor.
Participate, when necessary, in maintaining inventory for all food and program-related supplies and ensure the appropriate storage of delivered items.

The Part-Time Food Rescue Driver coordinates and conducts pick-ups of donated food and other items for NYCP's food pantry and hot meal programs. The Part-Time Food Rescue Driver also provides transportation for special events, participates in food drives, and provides program support for the pantry and meal programs to distribute food to individuals and families in need.
The Part-Time Food Rescue Driver will report to the Food Sourcing Manager at the 8 East 109th, New York, NY 10029 location. The schedule for this position is Wednesday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., with occasional extra hours on weekends and during busy periods of the year based on the needs of the Food Rescue program. This is a part-time, non-exempt position scheduled for 28 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Pick up prepared food, fresh produce, and other grocery items from corporate partners, schools, and religious organizations, including cafeterias, restaurants, grocery retailers, and wholesale distributors.
Receive and carry out daily and ongoing pick-up and drop-off driving assignments through email or through an electronic donation system, using agency smartphones or tablets.
Conduct weekly pick-up of donations from partners using a box truck or similar vehicle.
Use hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other light machinery to carry out loading and unloading.
Provide proactive communication through calls, texts, and emails and give updates about pick-up dates and times to donors to ensure pick-ups/drop-offs go smoothly.

Ensure that donated food is in acceptable condition for re-use.
Maintain relationships with front-line employees of companies donating food and promote NY Common Pantry to food donors.
