Provides training to consumers and employer partners in communication strategies on the job.

Provides in-service training to potential employers, co-workers, and support service providers in regard to the consumers' skills, potential, and support needs. Such training can be applied to competitive or supported employment situations.
Provides follow-up services for the employer and consumer in order to achieve a long-term and successful placement.
Works collaboratively with a transdisciplinary team of rehabilitation professionals to ensure that consumers receive all necessary training and supports for success in their vocational and personal goals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Social Work, or related degree OR minimum one-year experience working with individuals who are DeafBlind, blind, Deaf or multiply disabled.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitors legislative committee meetings and writes committee summaries.
Reviews legislative bill introductions and amendments.
Tracks legislation including: sending out newly-filed bills and e-filing them.
Monitors the release of and disseminates legislative committee information.
Assists in maintaining legislative calendars.
Assist the GLP team with government contracts and procurement matters including Request for Proposals (RFP) and competitive bid responses.
Assist with RFP that may include real estate related matters.
Conducts legislative research as needed and prepare summary as requested.
Assists with other Government Law & Policy activities/special projects as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and Competencies:
High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Work efficiently with the ability to multi-task and set priorities while maintaining and delivering the highest quality work product accurately and timely.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation.

Qualifications & Prior Experience:

The expected pay range for this position is:
$20 per hour
Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, job related factors permitted by law, internal equity, and market data, including geographic pay differentials in locations where market pay differs from the national average.
