The Composite Fabricator II works closely with engineering staff, technicians, and vendors/suppliers in the fabrication of tooling, structures, and components utilizing a variety of materials. The primary responsibility of the Production Technician II will be to test/assemble Small Unmanned Arial System products in our manufacturing facility following released engineering drawings and assembly instructions using our work order system. Position Responsibilities Primary duty is the mechanical assembly of subassemblies using small hand and/or power tools. What You'll Be Working On: Switchboard Testing and Inspection: Execute comprehensive testing procedures for switchboard assemblies, including but not limited to visual inspections, electrical continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, functional tests, and operational checks. Test Procedure Execution: Follow detailed test procedures and checklists to ensure consistent and thorough evaluation of switchgear performance against engineering specifications and industry standards. Electrical Testing and Verification: Execute electrical testing procedures, including continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, functional testing, and other relevant electrical tests to ensure switchboard meets performance specifications and safety requirements, energized functionality testing. Test Equipment Management: Ensure that all electrical testing equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and operated according to safety guidelines. Test Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Proficiently operate various electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, megohmmeters, Hi-Pot testers) and ensure proper calibration and maintenance of this equipment. Data Acquisition and Reporting: Accurately record and document test data, identifying trends, discrepancies, and potential failure points. Generate clear and concise test reports summarizing findings. Non-Conformance Reporting: Document any test failures or non-conformances, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to support root cause analysis and the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions. Quality Standards and Compliance: Ensure all testing activities adhere to relevant industry standards, safety regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E, UL 891, IEEE, ANSI), and internal quality management system requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to resolve testing issues, provide feedback on design for testability, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to production personnel on basic quality checks and testing procedures related to switchgear assemblies. Documentation Control: Maintain accurate and organized records of all test procedures, test results, and calibration records. What You'll Bring to the Team: Education: Minimum High School graduate or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred, and equivalent field experience will be considered. Experience: Minimum of five years' experience in electrical testing and quality control roles, with a strong focus on testing medium and/or low voltage switchgear assemblies. Electrical Testing Knowledge: Thorough understanding of electrical testing principles, methodologies, and safety practices. Switchboard Familiarity: Comprehensive knowledge of switchgear components, functionality, and relevant industry standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E, UL 891, IEEE, ANSI). Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Test Equipment Expertise: Hands-on experience operating and maintaining various electrical testing equipment. The Quality Technician tests and inspects material, product, and processes at various stages of production in a precast concrete manufacturing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a safe work environment and follow all published/posted safety policies. Performs all aspects of the pre-manufacture inspection process, and during and after Production to meet Quality requirements. Accurately enters Production and Quality data into computer system. /OBJECTIVE The QC Inspector will be responsible for approving incoming, in-process, and finished materials according to Internal and Customer requirements. The QC inspector will also be responsible for creating and documenting inspection results, taking measurements, and tracking non-conforming product. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reports to QC Leadperson and/or Supervisor for daily activities and workload. Perform and document dimensional and visual checks of production parts and incoming goods and creating inspection reports to internal and customer requirement. Responsible for notifying Quality Control Leadperson and/or Supervisor, in addition to Manufacturing and Engineering personnel, of non-conforming goods. Inspect customer supplied material, per specified drawings. Inspecting and gathering product documentation, final document packets, material heat reports as required. Inspection of buy-out materials. Make First Article inspection and document inspection results. Log and verify traceability packets. Implement and practice Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, increased productivity, and eliminating waste. Maintain 5S checklist as it applies to your work area. Perform other related duties assigned by QA Manager or QC Leadperson or QC Supervisor. Other Requirements An annual vision examination is required. Must have experience with the use of measuring instruments in the completion of dimensional inspections. (Calipers, micrometers, CMM, Pi tapes, Optical comparators, etc.) Must follow company safety procedures at all times. Must have average reading, writing, and mathematical skills. Must be able to visually inspect materials and manufactured products. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., 3 ft. high.
