Summary The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving quality systems, ensuring product conformity, customer satisfaction, and compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements. This role also supports safety initiatives and collaborates with the EHS team to ensure safe manufacturing practices, participate in risk mitigation activities, and promote a proactive safety culture on the shop floor. Key Responsibilities Quality Engineering Duties: * Serve as primary quality liaison for OEM and Tier 1 customers (Ford, GM, Stellantis, Mercedes). * Lead APQP documentation (PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow) and PPAP submissions. * Investigate quality complaints using structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa, etc.). * Own and drive corrective/preventive actions, escape point controls, and systemic improvements. * Maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements. * Monitor plant quality KPIs (Scrap, PPM, First Pass Yield) and lead countermeasure plans. * Support internal audits, layered process audits, customer audits, and readiness reviews. * Drive supplier quality improvement actions, including claim resolution and PPAP review. * Provide quality support during engineering changes, launches, and service production. * Develop and deliver training on quality processes and standards.
