Valley County Health System has an excellent career opportunity available for a LicensedPracticalNurse / LPN to join our Acute Care department working full or part-time. This LPN position is for the night shift working from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. including rotating weekends.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsibilities include utilizing nursing skills for patient care, performing and maintaining documentation and promoting and ensuring patient and staff safety.
REQUIREMENTS: • Current LicensedPracticalNurseLicensure for the State of Nebraska • Provide safe and appropriate care within the standards of Nursing • Experience with computers (Word, Excel, etc.) • LPN experience is preferred but not required • Independent problem-solving skills and self-directed work experience • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated leadership skills

Job Summary
The LicensedPracticalNurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan. Possess the ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and to provide the care needed. Demonstrates ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation.
Ensures the health, comfort and safety of residents. Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered. Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Documents resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with resident, health care providers, and the public. Ability to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team. Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Counsels residents, family members and/or resident advocate, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans. Knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited practicalnursing program as a LicensedPracticalNurse. Associate degree in practicalnursing is preferred.
If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
Must have attended a pre-licensurenursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements.
Currently holds an unencumbered LicensedPracticalNurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.

Perform and assist with invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, ART, RA, etc.)
Administer blood products, antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, and sedation drips
Care for ventilated patients; manage central lines, chest tubes, and tracheostomies
Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
Utilize specialized clinical equipment such as BD/Sigma IV pumps, Philips monitors, telemetry, and Servo ventilators

Valley County Health System is currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care team! This position is full time working 36 hours per week on the night shift.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse position include:
- Performing comprehensive nursing assessments in an efficient and effective manner
- Collaborating with Medical Staff, management, and other health care providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care
- Performing emergency and inpatient treatment as needed
- Demonstrating efficient time management and accurate documentation
- Promoting and ensuring patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS: • ADN or BSN graduate of accredited school of nursing required • Currently licensed in the State of Nebraska • BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certification required and can also be provided on-site! • Ability to multitask • Well organized and detail oriented • Experience with documenting in an EMR is preferred but not required
