The Champs-Elysee in Paris was paved in 1824, using natural asphalt.
He called it "sheet asphalt pavement" but it became known as French asphalt pavement.On 29 July 1870, the first sheet of Edward de Smedt's asphalt pavement was laid on William Street in Newark, New Jersey.
The first uses of this road asphalt were in Battery Park and on Fifth Avenue in New York City in 1872.
The first modern asphalt production facility was built in 1901 in Massachusetts.
Seubert Excavators was founded in 1963.
Since 1968 the main emphasis of work has been crushing in hard rock quarries, crushing in sand and gravel sources, screening, mixing, agglomerating and washing materials.
Clearwater Concrete was founded in 1977.
Starting in 1978, paving driveways and pathways, our goal has still remained the same today.
In 1986, the National Center for Asphalt Technology was founded.
During the 1989 season the work involved crushing, agglomerating and stacking 600,000+ tons of ore during a five month period.
Valley Paving & Asphalt was founded in 1993.
Our premier achievement was in 1994, when Valley Paving earned the highest quality award on a national level for its work on Interstate 35E in Forest Lake to White Bear Lake.
