About the Role
We're looking for skilled Maintenance Technicians & Mechanics to keep our production and facility equipment running at peak performance. In this role, you'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure smooth operations and zero downtime.
What You'll Do
Install, maintain, and repair food processing and production equipment.
Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
Read and interpret manuals and work orders to complete service tasks.
Perform routine plant inspections and address potential issues proactively.
Respond quickly to maintenance calls to keep production moving.
Maintain utility systems to prevent downtime.
Keep accurate records for safety, quality, and compliance.
Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and food safety standards.
Participate in required safety and quality training.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Experience: Hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills; ability to work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Tech Savvy: Basic computer skills for work orders and documentation.
Problem Solver: Ability to think on your feet and resolve issues quickly.
Team Player: Good communication and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems.
Welding experience.
Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
Additional Details
Work Environment: Shop and plant setting with exposure to moving parts, vibration, temperature changes, and loud noise.
Travel: Less than 5%.

PURPOSE:
As a member of the team, you will have an opportunity to assist in the improvement of our productivity, help make our mechanical systems more efficient, troubleshoot various issues with equipment, repair mechanical parts and maintain the system for maximum output. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow and support all company safety, GMP, and HACCP policies.
Follow and support all company ISO, QMS, and QSI policies.
Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment in a timely manner.
Performs monthly facility inspections per schedule.
Attends monthly safety meetings and follows all company safety policies and procedures.
Clean or change out all air filters in the plant.
Assist in major projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in electrical/mechanical or equivalent work experience.
Three (3) or more years of experience in an industrial maintenance field.
Knowledge and skill in troubleshooting of hydraulic, electronic and pneumatic systems.
Knowledge of and skill in using all hand tools.
Knowledge of and skill in basic use of a computer.
Knowledge of and skill in operating a forklift.
Excellent mathematical skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to make practical decisions without appreciable direction or advance preparation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance tasks
Maintain, repair, or replace grinders, augers, pumps, motors, and gear boxes
Survey, troubleshoot, and repair all facility electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and building systems
Maintain heating and plumbing systems and perform work involving boilers, air compressors, and wastewater
Promptly respond to emergency radio calls; work efficiently to repair machinery with minimal downtime
Completely repair equipment or ensure proper hand-off before leaving facility
Safely operate skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, and scissors lifts
Correctly operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment such as acetylene torches, air plasma cutters, and TIG welders
Perform building repairs, complete general handyman duties throughout facility, and mow and eliminate weeds, as needed
Accurately complete work orders to document materials used and time spent on maintenance projects
Communicate with Parts & Inventory Clerk on equipment and/or parts procurement, when needed
Follow all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiatives

Qualifications
Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a mechanical and/or electrical discipline

Experience with skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, and scissors lifts, preferred; pass in-house certifications upon hire

Perform building repairs and complete general handyman duties such as fixing holes in concrete, moving office furniture, etc., as requested; special projects may be assigned based on individual talents and skillsets
Complete small electrical or plumbing projects; escalate to an in-house specialist as needed
Document materials used and time spent on maintenance projects; turn in records and communicate supply needs with the Parts Coordinator, as needed

Position Summary
As a Industrial Machine Mechanic/Millwright specializing in our Metal Fabrication Department, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining mechanical and hydraulic metal-forming punch presses, metal spinning equipment, and CNC machines.
You'll also conduct inspections and oversee certain maintenance duties to make sure our machines are kept in good working order. What you'll do:
* Establish a preventative maintenance program for all presses with the assistance of the maintenance team.
* Develop documentation of machinery repair histories.
* Build machine components to upgrade machine functionality and work with Engineering to ensure newly designed equipment meets standards for safety, performance, and efficiency.
* Coordinate and collaborate with the Toolroom, Maintenance Technicians, EHS, and Engineering teams to ensure efficient machine operation and workplace safety.
* Design, fabricate, and implement essential safety equipment to enhance the protection and functionality of plant machinery.
* Perform installation of new equipment and relocation of existing equipment throughout the plant.
* Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
* Perform repairs and make adjustments, including temporary fixes to keep machines running safely while developing a plan for permanent repairs.
* Set up new parts on the CNC machines (includes programming).
* Setup, troubleshoot and repair of press automation systems.
* Troubleshoot and repair machine controls including PLC's and safety controls.
* Develop critical spare parts inventory for equipment in use.
* Work with outside contractors and vendors for repairs and order supplies and parts as needed.
* Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
What you bring to the position:
* High School diploma or GED required. A degree from a technical school preferred.
* 3-5 years of manufacturing experience required.
* Possess relevant skills to enable manufacture of needed components using mills, lathes, surface grinders etc.
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair machine controls including PLC's and safety controls.
* Experience with mechanical and hydraulic presses is essential; experience with Injection Molding machines or Compression machines or Metal Spinning machines is a plus.
* Millwright experience is a plus.
* An understanding of load bearing properties of ropes, cables, hoists and cranes.
* Ability to read schematic diagrams and blueprints.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player who works well with others in an experienced Tool Room environment.
This role is a regular full-time position in Saint Louis Park, MN. Paid on-the-job training is provided to familiarize you with our plant machinery. Successful candidates will be periodically called upon to work at unusual times for long hours in emergency situations during machine breakdowns or significant changes in the production line.
