Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) to join our virtual care team on a fully remote, PRN (as needed basis). In this role, you will provide high quality, culturally competent nutrition counseling to patients across the Western part of the United States. The ideal candidate is patient-centered, detail oriented, and experienced in providing virtual care through secure telehealth platforms. This position offers flexibility, a low-time commitment (approximately 3-5 hours per week to start, with opportunity for significant growth), and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients. The ideal candidate has certifications in multiple of the following states: WA, ID, OR, UT or WY.
Compensation
This position is a 1099 contractor position, and will be paid on a per-visit/per-hour basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop individualized care plans based on evidence based guidelines.
Provide medical nutrition therapy for a range of chronic and acute conditions, via one-on-one sessions.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using the designated electronic health record (EHR) system.
Coordinate care and communicate effectively with referring physicians, care coordinators, and other interdisciplinary team members.
Educate patients on healthy eating habits, lifestyle changes, and nutrition-related disease management in a virtual setting.
Create and implement targeted nutrition programs for various populations, including those managing diabetes, heart disease, or pursuing athletic performance goals.
Ensure compliance with both state and federal regulations, including proper coding and documentation
Support ongoing quality improvement initiatives and participate in team training or case reviews as needed.
Uphold professional, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance at all times.
Qualifications:
Active certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
MUST hold current CDR credential to practice as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) in WA, ID, OR, UT, WY- multiple licenses preferred.
Proof of active professional liability insurance coverage.
Current enrollment with other (2) major insurance payors or medicare advantage plans is a plus.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Prior experience in virtual health or telehealth nutrition counseling is preferred but not required.
Candidates must successfully pass a background check and maintain good standing with the applicable state(s) board.

Position Summary: The ClinicalDietitian is responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of optimal nutritional care and education of patients in accordance with established standards of care. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides individualized nutrition services aligned with Health at Every Size.
Provides individual medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient's medical goals.
Evaluates, interprets, monitors and documents the nutritional status and nutritional needs of hospitalized patients and out-patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.
Identifies and provides age-specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural and spiritual needs of the patients and their families.
Inspects meals served for conformance to prescribed diets and for standards of palatability and appearance.
Directs the calculation and documentation of calorie counts/enteral intake.
Communicates nutrition needs and care issues to other health care providers via documentation in patient's electronic medical record and via participation in interdisciplinary patient care rounds.
Develops, reviews, updates and implements educational materials to meet the needs of patients and professionals.
Functions as an integral member of the clinical interdisciplinary team.
Maintains registered dietitian (RD) status including continuing professional education.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Food/Nutrition Services; this may include assistance in the kitchen as time and needs dictate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, or comparable major
Licensed as a Registered Dietitian by the State of Ohio
Certified as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision and values.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for the spectrum of populations admitted to LCOH.
Preferred Qualifications
2-3 years experience in a patient care environment preferred.
Experience in eating disorder treatment preferred.
In depth knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition is required
Ability to assess nutritional status and develop comprehensive care plans for all levels of nutritional risk patients is required
Physical Requirements: Employees must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, and be able to stand or walk about 90% of a work shift. Must be able to see, talk and hear coworkers and patients and others.

Oversee and implement all aspects of nutrition care. Provide nutritional counseling to patients in all clinical programs.

Facilitate meal therapy with patients including processing and documentation, if needed.
Actively participate in multidisciplinary team, providing input on patient care and attending staffing meetings.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition required.
Registered Dietitian or RD eligible, passing RD exam within 90 days of hire required.
Experience working individually and in groups preferably with eating disordered patients.
Clinical conceptualization of the treatment of eating disorders and dual diagnosis preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills preferred.
Computer Skills:
Must be able to effectively maneuver within an office scheduling system.
Minimum of beginner skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Intermediate skills are required with Microsoft Outlook.
Must be able to efficiently learn and effectively work within an electronic medical records system.
Physical Demands and Environment:
Sitting frequently, standing occasionally, walking occasionally, talking frequently, hearing frequently, seeing constantly, reaching with arms and hands occasionally, crouching occasionally and using fingers intricately. This position requires lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds occasionally and lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds rarely.
Environmental conditions of this job include but are NOT limited to:
99% inside, 99% normal temperature and 99% normal noise as expected in a medical office environment.

+ **Shift:** **This role is 5 days per week - 8-hour daytime workdays. It does include some weekends and holidays that rotate amongst the team. You cannot work remotely for this position. + Uses the Nutrition Care Process to facilitate the provision of more complex nutrition care with moderate autonomy and supportive guidance from advanced practice dietitians.
+ Uses advanced counseling techniques to influence behavior change.
+ Uses technology in estimating needs and nutrition goals (ex: indirect calorimetry, nutrient analysis software, glucometers, etc.)
+ Mentors newly graduated dietitians, dietetic interns, and clinical diet techs.
+ Applies research to improve patient outcomes. Implements the latest evidence-based care with the interdisciplinary team and in updating care practices/processes within the facility.
+ Manages nutrition care across the continuum including durable medical equipment order writing.
+ Registered Dietitian Nutritionist order writing privileges per policy/protocol.
+ Identify and screen inpatients for nutritional risk and malnutrition in all areas of the hospital including but not limited to orthopedics, surgical, general medicine, telemetry, progressive care step-down, intensive care and behavioral health.
+ Assess nutritional status, develop, and document care plans, monitor results and interventions according to AND Nutrition Care Process using the EMR.
+ Responsible for assessing nutritional needs including management of oral nutrition supplements, enteral nutrition, and parenteral nutrition.
+ Evaluate and monitor patient's estimated nutrition needs for various medical conditions.
+ Participates in interdisciplinary rounds with the care team, acts as the nutrition expert making evidence-based recommendations.
