Clinical Dietitian Job At Valley View Hospital
Valley View's Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department is seeking a PRN (as needed) Clinical Dietitian. This position is responsible for providing nutrition services including nutrition assessment, education, counseling and self-management training for inpatients, outpatients, individuals and groups. The Clinical Dietitian II also assists as needed with general Cardiopulmonary Rehab counseling, education, operations and marketing duties.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Educates and counsels on health-related topics such as diet/nutrition, exercise, stress and chronic disease management.
Assesses the nutritional status of patients using parameters such as anthropometric measurements, visual/physical assessment and interpretation of lab values with documentation in the medical record and/or patient forms.
Develops and revises a nutrition and/or chronic disease care plan based on information from the patient, medical record, family and health care team members.
Assesses and creates care plans for chronic disease management including patients with diabetes and obesity, including but not limited to inpatient diabetes and cardiac interventions, diabetes self-management education and support classes and individual assessment, medical nutrition therapy, etc.
Assists in maintaining programming accreditation [ex: Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSME/S) and Diabetes Prevention Program] including required trainings and education requirements.
Participates and assists in planning of community relations events, health fairs and presentations.
Maintains a working knowledge of all program-related core competencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification or Licensure:
Registered Dietitian required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
Advanced practice and/or education certification from a nationally accredited body in chronic disease management, such as Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential, American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE), Diabetes Educator Level 2 Certificate, or Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Recognized Board Certified Specialist.
Experience:
At least 1 year as a clinical dietitian preferred.
Skills:
Good computer skills; excellent customer service and communication skills.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
SALARY:
Entry salary dependent upon education, skill set, and experience.
Salary range: $26.86-$39.50/hour + 14% PRN differential.

Registration with the ADA Commission on Dietitian Registration is required Current BLS or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire is required
