Operates folder/gluer in accordance with customer specifications and current standard operating procedures. Maintains equipment and machine area. Performs other job duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: 2 or more years' experience operating a folding / gluing machine. Must be able to effectively direct feeders/catchers and packers to start and stop working based upon equipment or quality issues. As a pipe coater, you are responsible for performing custom hand coating that is involved in the production of L.B. Foster steel pipe products while following standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe. Production Workers are trained to work in all areas of production. This is a night shift role but will train on day shift (5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) for one month. Shifts can be from 8 to 12 hours long. Responsibilities Follow all safe work practices and procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Carryout verbal and written instructions from Foreman. Complete jobs in a timely fashion to ensure on time shipment. Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists. Trained to complete pre-operation equipment inspections and report any issues identified. Trained to set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools. Read and interpret work instructions, then execute work per instructions. Work with quality and production teams to identify areas for process improvement. All other duties as assigned. Experience & Education High school diploma or equivalent At least 1 year of work experience in a production environment Skills & Abilities Ability to wear all required PPE, including a respirator and work in a high temperature environment. Must be able to stand and walk back and forth for long periods of time. Must be able to carry up to 65 pounds and use small hand tools like grinders. Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
