Position Summary
The SOMD is responsible for overseeing the provision of Hanford Occupational Medical Services and advising DOE on medical issues.
***Relocation assistance will be considered for this role***
Core Responsibilities
Oversee staff of professionals that provide clinical services.
Involved with consultation, as needed, with clinic physician assistants (PAs) or nurse practitioners (NPs).
Apply appropriate DOE directives in the workplace.
Participate in meetings and committees, as requested.
Provide assessment and treatment of work-related illnesses and injuries.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures, plus assist with interpretation if needed.
Provide urgent care of non-work-related injuries and illnesses as best supports site activities.
Manage and organize a team's work to be delivered with efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy while still meeting budget requirements and standards of excellence for the clinic.
Assist with the recruiting and managing of physicians, nurses and other medical and non-medical staff plus oversee all training is executed appropriately for the clinic.
Fully understand the internal processes of all departments.
Examine and coordinate the clinic's activities to guarantee medical quality
Requirements
Qualifications
Experience - shall have a minimum of three years of experience in the oversight and management of occupational medical programs similar in complexity.
Experience - Federal Government experience is desirable.
Education- Must be certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM), Aerospace Medicine (AM), or Public Health and Preventive Medicine (PM) by the appropriate Medical or Osteopathic Medical certifying board.
Licensure - The SOMD shall possess a valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State
of Washington;
Security and Access- Must be eligible for a DOE Access Authorization.

Manages two or more service line clinics/stores (medical, dental, pharmacy), with 45 to 100 FTEs, 25,000 to 65,000 encounters, and an expense budget of $7-16 million.

Ochsner Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to serve as Medical Director of of Pediatric CVICU in New Orleans, Louisiana. Responsibilities will focus on all aspects of non-invasive imaging including fetal echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and general echocardiography with teaching responsibilities for pediatric residents, medical students, and sonographers. There is also an opportunity for cross-sectional imaging as part of our growing cardiac MRI and CT program. The job with also include outpatient clinic, inpatient service and telemedicine. Ochsner Children's provides services for all pediatric cardiac sub-specialties including heart failure/transplant, EP, ACHD, interventional cardiology, imaging including echocardiography and cardiac MRI and CT, and fetal cardiology, comprehensive single ventricle program, and neurodevelopmental clinic. The heart center includes 21 cardiologists, 3 congenital heart surgeons, 6 cardiac intensivists practicing in a dedicated pediatric 12 bed cardiac intensive care unit and 3 pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists. The program performs approximately 250 cardiac surgeries, 400 cardiac catheterizations (75% interventional) and 19,000 ambulatory visits at 15 locations across Louisiana and Mississippi per year. Our heart center has been ranked by US New and World Report for the last 6 years and is the only ranked program in Louisiana; survival after cardiac surgery for our most complex patients (STS STAT 4 and 5 categories) is in the top 10% of programs reporting to STS. Our comprehensive Ochsner Children's program is the region's leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric complex specialty services including, liver and bone marrow transplantation, a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, advanced GI and Hepatology, advanced spine surgery, Hematology-Oncology and AYA Oncology, Cleft Palate/Cranio-Facial Surgery and the region's only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental pediatrics center. Ochsner Children's Hospital includes a 67-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, a NAEC-accredited level IV, 4 bed Pediatric EMU and a 44-bed Pediatric Acute Care unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, supported by a 24-7 pediatric and neonatal transport team utilizing rotary and fixed wing aircraft, as well as ground transport. Last year we broke ground on a new 5-story Children's Hospital on our main campus in New Orleans, with expected opening in quarter 1 of 2028. The Opportunity
This is a unique executive opportunity for a physician leader to shape the future of our Occupational Medicine services in Louisiana. The Regional Medical Director of Occupational Medicine is a "player-coach" role, blending strategic oversight, program development, and hands-on clinical practice. You will be responsible for the clinical quality, operational efficiency, and financial success of the OccMed service line across all clinics in the region. You will lead our clinical teams, build lasting partnerships with major employers, and provide direct supervision for our Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), all while maintaining our clinical practice at our Youngsville, LA clinic.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Program Development (20%):
Develop and execute a comprehensive regional strategy to grow market share and expand Occupational Medicine services.
Standardize clinical protocols, workflows, and best practices across all regional locations to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
Partner closely with the sales and business development teams to attract, onboard, and retain key corporate clients.
Analyze regional performance metrics (KPIs), financial reports, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Serve as the clinical subject matter expert during high-level sales presentations and contract negotiations.
Clinical Oversight & APP Supervision (5%):
Serve as the designated supervising or collaborating physician for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, across the region.
Maintain a full supervisory roster, overseeing up to the maximum number of APPs as permitted under your license by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
Fulfill all supervisory duties, including regular chart reviews.
Provide direct clinical leadership and mentorship to all physicians and APPs in the region regarding occupational medicine
Act as the primary point of escalation for complex clinical cases, client concerns, and regulatory inquiries.
Implement and lead a robust quality assurance (QA) program for your region.
Hands-On Clinical Practice (75%):
Maintain a clinical practice based at our Youngsville, LA flagship clinic.
Perform the full spectrum of occupational health services, including workers' compensation injury management, DOT physicals, and pre-employment examinations.
Provide coverage in urgent care as needed, serving as a model of clinical excellence for the team.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
Board Certification in a relevant specialty (Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine).
A minimum of 5-7 years of clinical experience with a significant focus in Occupational Medicine.
Proven leadership experience (e.g., Medical Director, Lead Physician, or similar multi-site oversight role).
Must hold an active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Louisiana with eligibility to supervise APPs.
Current, unrestricted DEA registration.
Must be a Certified Medical Examiner on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) for DOT physicals.
Preferred:
Board Certified in Occupational Medicine (ABPM).
Significant experience supervising and mentoring Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
Medical Review Officer (MRO) certification.
Advanced degree (MPH, MHA, MBA) is highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience in business development and managing client relationships.
Strong business acumen with experience in budget oversight or P&L responsibility.

Saint Agnes Medical Providers (SAMP) is a physician-led 120+ provider multispecialty group seeking a part-time Pathology Anatomic and Clinical Medical Director in Fresno, California.
The selected candidate will lead the pathology laboratory, managing all facets of its operations, and will contribute approximately 15 hours per week. This includes planning, organizing, and directing activities of the Laboratory with support from administrative directors, managers, supervisors, and senior technologists. The Director will also serve as a subject matter expert and consultant, collaborating closely with physicians and other health care providers.
Responsibilities include providing clinical direction, ensuring laboratory oversight, validating tests, and maintaining College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation. Experience in a CAP-accredited laboratory is desirable. As a member of the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology team, the Director will consult with clinical staff and participate in tumor boards. While this is a general pathology service within a community hospital, subspecialty expertise and prior management experience are highly desirable.
