The first store of the company was opened in Buffalo, New York, USA. Since the year 2000, the company had been able to raise over $373,000 for their ‘Make A Change’ program that will be benefitting all the young people that are addicted to drugs and alcohol.
Valu was presented with the title of Retail Innovator of the Year by Hardware Retailing Magazine in 2010.
In 2013, Valu was a finalist for Buffalo Business First Best Places To Work!
In November of 2014, Buffalo was hit with 7 feet of snow and the event became known as "Snowvember" - Valu, even in the harsh winter conditions, opened to help the community survive the storm.
