Our client is a leading distributor of industrial process control equipment, systems, and services in the southwest region of the US including North, East, and West Texas, Oklahoma, Western Arkansas, and New Mexico. They are actively seeking military veteran technicians with mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting backgrounds.

This position is for the role of a Valve Technician who is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction while testing, inspecting, and repairing pressure relief valves (PRV), flow control valves, regulators, electronic instrumentation, and electric actuators for industries such as power, oil and gas, refining, chemical, and food and beverage. This position will entail independent field work, work as a member of a larger repair team, and work in a shop.

This individual will be responsible for maintaining a work laptop computer and generating documentation for customer's maintenance records. This position entails a high degree of customer interaction, and is deeply imbedded in the company's sales process, consequently this position requires good people skills, a sharp personal appearance and a positive attitude at all times. Experience in the power, refining, chemical or oil and gas industry is a plus.

This position will require travel to client sites with many projects requiring multiple overnight stays, weekends, and extended workdays.
Duties and responsibilities:

Maintenance, calibration, testing and trouble-shooting of valves, pressure relief valves and electric actuators (480v) as well as measurement and valve related instruments. Including, but not limited to:

- Assembly of new equipment or repaired equipment
- Documentation of repair / testing / assembly activities, cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, labor hours, and so on
- Customer communication, technical assistance, troubleshooting, quoting / determining disposition of repairs
- Participation in field and shop service calls, as required
- Disassembly, cleanup, and evaluation of parts
- Research and develop required parts list for Insides Sales to quote repair
- Sandblast and paint when required
- Coordinate repairs based upon requirements from the customer and Vinson scheduling
- Fill out comprehensive repair reports describing the ss found condition, recommended repairs, and so on
- Recognize, pursue, and secure opportunities to increase the scope of work and products sold whenever possible
- Adhere to all safety, quality, company rules and regulations
Perform other duties as assigned.

Most overtime occurs in the Spring and the Fall (approx. Feb 15 - May 15 and Sept 15 - Dec. 1), so available PTO will be limited, if allowed at all, during those times.

General Summary

Essential Job Functions
· Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern.

· Performs pressure relief valve repair in accordance to TEAM's National Board Inspection Code approved quality manual.

Job Qualifications
· Education preferred: high school diploma or GED equivalent.
· Minimum 3- 5 years of experience.
· Pressure Relief Valve Manufacturers Training Courses and/or certifications, National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors training course preferred.
· Knowledge of Trevitest, EVT, AVK, or other in-line test equipment preferred.
· Solid working knowledge of the ASME and NBIC codes.
· 0 to 30% minimum travel requirement.

Work Conditions
· Position is based out of a branch or site location.
· Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
· Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Valve Technician Manual Machinist, to support the inside machine shop at our Jacksonville Florida shipyard location. This is a full-time position with occasional overtime as needed to better serve production demand. In this role, you will work in our shop with experienced inside machinists. Additionally, you may be required to go aboard customer vessels in support of other crafts. To perform your duties you will need to operate some machine shop equipment, as well as demonstrate strong math skills and must be capable and willing to work in a machining environment requiring the use of cutting fluids and oils. In this skilled trade, dependability and a strong work ethic is vital.
**Essential Responsibilities**

+ Reports to the Inside Machine Shop Supervisor or designated representative.

+ Performs evaluation, disassembly, cleaning, individual component inspection, measuring, machining, reassembly and testing of various valve types, including but not limited to; globe valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, etc.

+ Follows all drawings, parts lists and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Department, Government and Commercial Customer documented guidance.

+ Verify and attest to all calibration and documentation associated with valve testing and repairs.

+ Complies with OSHA, EPA and other safety and environmental regulations.

+ Maintains a clean and orderly work areas following prescribed safety standards.

+ Maintains tools and in support of inside machine shop activities.

+ Maintains proper documentation and required paperwork.

**Additional Information**

Inside machine shop personnel must operate with care at all times. Safety is important when working with metal, glass, plastics and composite materials. Some of the work involves heat-processed or lubricated items as well, and the machines and parts they use can be heavy and dangerous. There will be occasions you will have to go aboard customer vessels or visit alternate locations to make recommendations or determine a course of action.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**

+ Familiar with tools and machinery required to perform daily valve repair duties. Including but not limited to manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders and power saws.

+ Ability to use, read and understand precision measuring tools and gauges

+ Mechanical aptitude including use of basic hand tools

**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**

High School Diploma or GED and 2-5 years industrial valve repair experience, or an equivalent number of years of education in valve repair and maintenance, includingrepairing variousvalve actuators, whether pneumatic, hydraulic or electric.
