* Follows procedures to ensure that no child is left alone on bus without adult supervision at any time, and that all children have departed bus at the end of all bus routes (morning, evening and during field trips or other special trips).
* Inventories bus emergency and first aid supplies and equipment; reports needs to the Director.
* Prepares aides and children for bus drills and ensures bus evacuation drills are held as required.
* In case of accidents/emergencies, evacuates children according to written and practiced procedures, ensures that medical emergency procedures are followed; completes a written report as required.
* Attends and participates in trainings, and other continuing education, career and professional development opportunities.

* Provides a substitute Bus Driver Aide when required.
* Assists the Bus Driver in implementing all policies and procedures on an as required basis. This responsibility includes the requirement to direct all personal and parental concerns through appropriate channels while maintaining complete confidentiality to protect the interests of all concerned parties.
* Attends all required in-service training.
* Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that student and employee records confidentiality is assured.
* Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance, e.g. expense management. Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
* Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Assists with the orientation of new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system.
