Maintains an acceptable driving record in personal vehicles and the school bus as required in the Commercial Motor Vehicle safety Act of 1986, Part 383, Subparts B, C, and D of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Reports violations to the Transportation Department.
Complies with local traffic regulations, Transportation Department guidelines and Caddo Parish School Board policies.
Adhere to assigned schedule.
Be prompt in picking up and discharging students at approved stops.
Transport only students which have been so authorized and, in emergency, a student assigned by the principal.
Enforce bus regulations and report undisciplined students to principal.
Furnishes and maintains traveling and time schedules.
Inspects bus and checks gas, oil, and water before departure. Keeps bus clean.
Notify parents of bus schedule (i.e., time and bus stop location) prior to opening of school and when changes occur.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

To qualify you have to have graduated from a professional truck driving Academy within the last 2 years with at least 120 hours of training. Now that you have your Class A CDL you are looking for work but with no OTR experience no one will hire you? We will.
This is not a local position. After your 30 day training you'll come home and choose one of many open positions. Most are OTR runs. However we do offer other positions once you get your foot in the door.
Currently hiring for 17 positions to drivers with little or no OTR experience, like yourself, which features great pay, excellent benefits and many home time options. After training you will be expected to run OTR getting home every 10-14 days. Many openings are regional as well getting home more often.
Currently we offer many different division opportunities, such as dry van, reefer, and flatbed. If you'd like to run flatbed we offer a free 5 day training course to build your resume. We also offer CDL school tuition reimbursement available for those who paid out of pocket to go to school. Up to $1,000 to help payback your tuition.

The application and hiring process, as well as the job details:
When our HR staff receives your application, we will reach out to you and conduct a phone interview to pre-qualify you. After we determine that you qualify, we will then review all of the job details with you and move you forward with the application process.
In your interview we will help you fill out part 1 of our application. Then we will email you a link to complete the second part on your own.
Then your application will be reviewed by an administrator applicant processor. We will then be contacting you regarding your approval.
After you are approved for onboarding, you will be scheduled for driver orientation. We will schedule you for orientation in the Dallas area. We will reserve a hotel room for you. Transportation to orientation will be by bus on us or you can drive yourself and we will reimburse you for your gas. Your breakfast is provided at the hotel and lunch will be catered in.
Upon completion of orientation, you will officially be hired and go out with a driver trainer for 4 weeks. You stay out the whole month training all over the country. The goal is to build your confidence behind the wheel and turn you into a great safe Class A Driver. You will be paid $650 a week during this time.
Once you have completed your OTR training, you will then meet with a terminal manager to choose a run. You will then become a regular driver and move into a FT position. Your pay will increase to anywhere from $1,200 - $1,400+ per week (depending on the run you choose). Home times will vary depending on the run. (OTR or regional)
Drivers are eligible for our full benefits package at 30 days: Medical, dental, vision, 401k retirement, $10k in company paid life insurance, disability insurance and paid vacation. Our equipment are newer well-maintained Freightliners (mostly autos). Another perk, we have partnered with SNHU and are happy to offer our drivers and one of their immediate family FREE tuition for online college classes.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
* Drive bus daily following assigned route and adhering to established schedules.
* Drive bus to and from extracurricular activities.
* Anticipate problems such as traffic, weather, road conditions, and schedule changes and make necessary adjustments to ensure student safety and reduce delays.
* Perform pre- and post-trip inspections according to specifications to ensure bus can be operated safely and notify supervisor of needed repairs. Keep assigned bus clean and maintain appropriate level of fuel.
* Report all accidents, vehicle damage, student injuries, and mechanical problems and complete required corresponding reports.
* Instruct students on safe entering, exiting, and passenger rules and regulations. Supervise students while they board and leave the bus and cross the street.
* Maintain discipline and use effective behavior management control over groups of students. Report student discipline problems to appropriate administrator and communicate with teachers and parents regarding student's behavior when warranted.
* Perform emergency evacuation of students on bus when the situations warrants.
* Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
* Ensure proper condition of emergency equipment, such as first aid kit, fire extinguisher, flags, fuses, crow bar, and reflector.
* Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor. Report any hazardous conditions along scheduled route.
* Install snow chains during inclement weather.
* Maintain safety certification.
* Operate and monitor two-way radio equipment to communicate with transportation office and other drivers.
* Complete and maintain accurate, up-to-date, and timely records and reports including but not limited to those related to bus mileage, gas and oil consumption, and number of passengers transported.
* Ensure confidentiality regarding all personnel matters.
* Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
* Adhere to the district's safety policies and procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
