Conducts pre-trip and post trip inspections of equipment for defects and safe operation conditions before and after trips, when stopped during the workday and submits a daily vehicle inspection report at the end of each day. Performs basic preventive maintenance such as checking and maintaining appropriate fluid levels, replacing light bulbs and batteries, changing oil, and checking tire pressure. Uses tablet to record fuel deliveries, enter time and records cargo data in a safely in timely manner while completing assigned deliveries. Maintains records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations and including driver's logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records and other records required by Foster Fuels, the state and federal regulations. Ensures that all shipping documentation (bills of laden, weight tickets, meter tickets, etc.) required to move with shipments are available for inspection, that appropriate paperwork accompanies shipments when delivered, and that signed bills of laden for proof of delivery are turned into dispatch daily. Promptly reports any delays due to breakdown, weather or traffic conditions, or other emergencies. Must be drug free and pass random drug tests as required by the Department of Transportation Knowledge/Skills/Ability Ability to safely operate multi passenger vehicle in strict compliance with State regulations while maintaining professional courtesy with all passengers. Ability to write detailed and accurate reports. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and make logical decisions. Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel. Ability to operate equipment safely, such as vehicle wheelchair lift and two-way radios. May be asked to work at Special events; i.e. athletic games, theatre events, commencements etc., to assist security officers with traffic and crowd control/management while under the direction of security personnel and notifying security of any circumstance needing Campus security consideration.
