The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving the growth of the VDOT Design practice to increase market share across the Commonwealth. Leads go / no-go decisions supporting the local Regional Manager (RM) and Managing Director (MD) related to complex ITS/ATMS/Technology pursuits. Skills & Abilities: Understands AEC industry, champions innovation, challenges status quo and remains at the forefront of evolving industry and economic trends Exhibits business acumen, including sound judgment and decision-making Strong bias for action, drives performance, and focuses on results and progress Fosters teamwork and collaboration - creates a climate in which people want to give their best to the organization and one another Provides clear direction, speaks with an influential voice, and inspires others Excellent communicator: verbal and non-verbal; one-on-one and group dynamics Develops trusting relationships at all levels (internally and externally) Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering 15+ years of relevant professional experience in the ITS/ATMS market; 10+ years managing team PE license required Demonstrated previous experience in developing the strategic framework necessary for implementing a sustainable practice in the transportation technology sector Strong collaboration skills and willingness to travel Understands local agency initiatives related to technology and can assist in positioning VHB to support We are VHB!
