Environmental Scientist - Site Investigation & Remediation At VHB, our Site Investigation & Remediation (SI&R) practice is dedicated to delivering comprehensive services that investigate, manage and mitigate environmental risks while satisfying regulatory requirements and project variables. Responsibilities Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to develop creative, cost-effective, and compliant solutions for sites that are complicated by the presence of contamination. Manage diverse SI&R projects while maintaining and growing client relationships. Coordinate the preparation and review of project deliverables (e.g. Phase I ESAs, desktop due diligence memos, site investigation reports, evaluations and corrective action alternatives, soil management plans, corrective action plans, etc.) with a high level of proficiency. Mentor and develop junior staff, including coaching of field procedures, task and budget management, and promotion of a positive client experience. Represent VHB through participation in professional organizations, conferences, and community engagement. Stay current with regulations, emerging contaminants, evolving technologies, and industry trends. What You Bring Excellent communication skills, including exceptional writing and the ability to review technical documents with attention to detail. Field and office experience (role is primarily office-based, with occasional field oversight). Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field (Master's a plus). 3-5+ years of professional environmental consulting experince in site remediation and investigation required 5-8+ years of professional environmental consulting and site remediation preferred. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and current 8-hour refresher certification required. Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Connecticut is $85,000-110,000. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location. VHB is growing and we have an opening for an experienced Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Design team. VHB's transportation team in Worcester, MA, is recognized for its involvement in planning, engineering, and consulting services related to transportation infrastructure. They focus on improving mobility, safety, and connectivity within the region, collaborating on various projects with public and private sector clients and are experienced in Regional Transit Planning, Traffic Engineering and Analysis and Infrastructure Design. Responsibilities Duties include highway engineering, stormwater management and drainage design, cost estimating, and report writing. Conceptual and final design of roadway, highway, and multi-modal engineering solutions for a variety of transportation-related projects including development of geometric horizontal and vertical layout, grading and drainage design, and utilities layout Preparation and review of roadway design criteria, calculations, drawings, estimates, and specifications Development of 3D modeling for conceptual roadway alignments Temporary traffic control development Constructability development and review Typical section development and pavement design Preparation of right-of-way and easement plans Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team Ability to work effectively in both in-office and virtual environments Ability to balance concurrent projects Detail oriented, self-motived, and committed Strong computer skills Critical thinking and problem solving Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering required, MS a plus 3-5 years of transportation engineering experience required EIT preferred Demonstratable AutoCAD / Civil3D experience required Infraworks or SketchUp experience a plus Familiarity with MassDOT project development a plus Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $85,000-115,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience. We are VHB!
