The Administrator on Duty (AOD) is responsible for assisting the Director of the Residential Treatment Center in meeting agency and departmental goals by functioning as the on-call behavior management support staff of the program. Primary Duties & Essential Functions:
Monitor, maintain and utilize sound working knowledge of all program standards (OCFS, OPWDD, CSE, and HIPPA).
Recognize, evaluate and develop responses to divisional needs.
Maintain the safety, security, and behavioral management of division and is empowered to make decisions according to Agency Policy.
Ensures staffing standards are in adherence to regulatory standards.
Assign and reassign staff according to the individual needs of the units.
Ensures that Vice President of Quality Assurance is notified of allegations of abuse.
Ensure operational policies are followed and adhered to.
Assist Activities Coordinator and the Recreation department to ensure daily schedules incorporate recreational and community activities.
Conduct briefings without going and incoming Administrator on Duty. Remain on duty until properly relived.
Complete all end of the month paperwork and routes accordingly.
Assure that quarterly fire drills are conducted within the units.
Ensure that union contractual agreements are understood and maintained.

Vanderheyden is seeking a certified Health Teacher to support the New York State Health standards through engaging, informed and timely instruction. Vanderheyden firmly supports the Health education standards and the importance of health topics, physical and mental well-being.
Primary Duties & Essential Functions:
Deliver the primary Health education instruction to students as scheduled.
Prepare lesson plans and instructional material based on the New York State Standards.
Evaluate and recommend instructional material and activities.
Evaluate and record academic progress of each student.
Maintain and follow the Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each classified student.
Maintain and follow the Behavioral Support Plan (BSP) for each student.
Create and maintain a safe learning environment within the classroom.
Assess and record program outcomes on the school management system.
Assigns tasks and monitor the performance of classroom ancillary staff.
Assume other responsibilities that belong to all education staff members such as participation in the behavior management program, insuring the health, safety, and supervision of students, and enforcing the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct.
Initiate communication and consultation with other staff in response to student concerns.
Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with all agency staff.
Develop supportive and nurturing relationships with students while consistently reinforcing program expectations.
Participates fully and effectively in school meetings or teams including Committee on Special Education meetings, Department meetings, and teacher meetings.
Required Education, Knowledge. and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree required, Masters preferred
New York State Teachers Certification in Health Education.
Experience with at-risk youth and/or youth with special education needs preferred
Abilities and Working Conditions:
Must be available to work a first shift work week
Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

The Community Habilitation Specialist is responsible for coordinating and assisting individuals and families to achieve specific goals by providing respite, residential habilitation services, skill building, in and/or parent assistance services. Per Diem position - (Per Diem$20/hr.)
Primary Duties & Essential Functions:
Maintain knowledge of community-based resources including, but not limited to, age-appropriate recreational activities.
Provide direct care and services to individuals and families.
Assist individuals with goal orientated activities based on agreed upon services plan.
Attend and participate in supervision, staff development opportunities and agency/community committees.
Communicate and interact with individuals and families appropriately and effectively.
Explains and promotes Sanctuary to prospective employees, volunteers and the community.
Create personal schedule based on individuals served utilizing appropriate time management techniques.
Complete written service summaries as required.
Complete assigned paperwork, including intake assessments and discharge summaries in a timely manner.
